  I want to share feedback regarding a recent experience my family had in the women's and children's building at the Hilton Head Island Belk location. My daughter and I were inside a fitting room while my husband stood directly outside our specific stall door to help pass clothes back and forth. He was minding his own business and not interacting with anyone else. Another customer apparently reported a man being in the fitting room area, and an employee instructed my husband to leave. Even after he explained he was assisting his wife and daughter, the employee insisted he exit the area. Our family feels this situation was not fully thought through. It raises safety and equity questions for different family dynamics. If a father is shopping alone with his young daughter, or if a child has special needs and requires assistance from their only available parent, they should not be denied help. The employee seemed focused only on the complaining customer instead of finding a solution that accommodated both parties. On a positive note, the employees at the perfume counter and the store manager were absolutely amazing. When we brought this situation to their attention, they were super friendly and completely understood our perspective. I am very thankful for their understanding. I truly hope the store implements training to handle these situations better in the future. Parents who are actively and appropriately helping their children should be supported, regardless of gender.

  Found what we were looking for! My daughter got new dresses and I found shirts for my grandson. Our checkout clerk was very helpful.

  Quality clothes and amazing offers. I purchased a suit and a couple of shirts. The gentleman that assisted was very helpful and friendly.

  We had the most incredible experience at the Belk at Hilton Head Island shopping for my nephew and niece items recently. My nephew shopped for shoes and the clerk that we encountered was so great about finding the perfect fit for my nephew for shoes. She was that good! Also, we ended up buying a bracelet in jewelry for out niece from Nina T for my niece and she was so great and most helpful about finding us the perfect piece. She was the counter manager and it was oh so amazing to me how she had worked her way up from the bottom to a manager. What utmost diligence and determination. The Belk employees that we encountered were also all so friendly, so amicable, and very nice. Thank you for that! We will definitely continue to revisit the Belk at Hilton Head again and again and again for their most wonderful and awesome service. As well as such wonderful merchandise!
