  Absolutely trash service in the photography section. My wife scheduled a photoshoot for Mother’s Day, May 10th, 2026. Shooting time: 3:45pm EST. At 3:30, my wife called from the car to say we would be 10 minutes late, to which we were told there is only a 5 minute grace period given and if we didn’t arrive by 3:50, our appointment would be forfeit. As I am no stranger to getting family portraits at JC Penny, I know that each shoot only lasts between 5 and 10 minutes and are booked in 15 minute intervals. I drove to the store, arriving at the Photography area at 3:53pm to find the photographer shooting another family, with just one in the waiting area. One would assume that the family she was wrapping up shooting was either: A.) The family that was next in line, and now just getting served 5 to 15 minutes prior. Or B.) The family whose appointment was at 3:30 and the photographer was running behind. Either way, the photographer could have gotten the job done for me and my pregnant wife, seeing as though she said each shoot was only 10 to 15 minutes. But even when I asked if we could “wait and see” if someone else was late for their appointment, she responded, “I wouldn’t. For some reason it felt as though my family was being denied service when there was no clear reason to. Perhaps my biggest offense was being an African American and my (potential) photographer had had her fill of black people for the day. And I only say this because of how noticeably uncomfortable the young woman seemed, even though I was calm, polite and professional. I am normally not the person to write reviews… but this one hit a little too close to home to say nothing. The standard seems to have dropped… to where JC Penny Photography, a community staple for family portraits, has been reduced to being run by high school racists. 100% would not recommend.

  This place is old and stinks. I bought almost $400 worth of products and had to chase down someone to ring me up. Literally none of their current employees that work on the weekends actually want to do their. Job. There was 1 cashier going slow as molasses with a long line. I went to the jewelry counter, no one there, make up area, smuggly she said I AM WITH A CUSTOMER, none of the department ppl wanted to get behind a counter and ring anyone up. Finally one person said go down stairs, after walking around downstairs, I finally fi d an older white women and an older black women. The older white women walked away as I walked up saying I need to go get a schedule. WHAT? Then the older black women went as slow as possible, when I finally got up to her, she rudely asked me where the tag is for one of the items. I said I dont know, its not my job to place them on the item, thay is yours. I told her I intentionally grabbed items that had it m the tags on, so im not sure what happened. These tags keep falling off. She said, do yiu want to go get one with it. Uuuuuum NO, who are you to tell me to go do your job? She acted like she couldn't get on her computer and find the item. The older white women finally came back and told her to look it up. When I asked her she said she couldn't. Who is training these ppl? She should be fired, or allowed to pull trash as she cannot politely handle the public

  Just your typical JCP. 2 story with elevator & escalator. Nothing stands out as overly good but nothing bad either. Attached to mall. Plenty of parking.
