  I had a wonderful experience at Sylvan's Columbia. The staff were kind , professional, and attentive from the moment I walked in. Daniel was such a pleasure to work with-patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely interested in helping me find exactly what I was looking for. I found a beautiful pearl necklace for Mother's Day and the whole process felt easy and enjoyable, thanks to Daniel's guidance. It is clear they truly care about their customers and take pride in what they do. Cannot recommend enough!

  Bought a new watch and needed the band to be adjusted. I called before hand and talked to Jason. Jason was super nice and attentive. I have a small writs and he made sure that my watch fit perfectly. Very pleased with my new watch that I can now wear and the amazing service by Jason.

  I stopped into Sylvan’s today to have my ring resized, and look for some items for Mother’s Day and was honestly shocked by the level of customer service. I walked in, sat at the front bar area alongside other customers, and waited while multiple associates passed by me repeatedly. Not a single person acknowledged me, no “we’ll be right with you,” no greeting, no eye contact, nothing. Meanwhile, other customers around me were actively being helped and spoken to. I completely understand stores get busy, but basic hospitality and acknowledgment should be the bare minimum at a luxury jeweler. Even a simple, “Someone will be with you shortly,” would have completely changed the experience. After about 15 minutes of sitting and waiting without a single acknowledgment from staff, I finally got up and left. For a business with such a longstanding reputation in Columbia, the experience felt surprisingly dismissive and unwelcoming. Luxury is not just about jewelry, it’s about service, attentiveness, and making customers feel valued. Unfortunately, that was completely missing today.

  Sylvan’s is a beautiful jewelry store filled with both a wide variety of gorgeous pieces to please any price point and style, but also kind and knowledgeable sales consultants. I have had wonderful customer service every time I am in the store whether to make a new purchase or to have something repaired. I have repeatedly been personally welcomed by Charlie Brown and Phillip Landry and most impressed that they each remember me and any previous conversations we shared. I highly recommend Sylvan’s as it is a long standing, reputable and respected jeweler in downtown Columbia.

  While traveling, my wife’s watch battery failed. Our hotel suggested Sylvan’s. I was somewhat thinking the fee was going to be very expensive, given the shop’s very elegant and tasteful display of many beautiful pieces of jewelry. What good fortune. Hila greeted us in a very friendly manner, indicating a couple of days to have the battery changed. When we told her we were traveling and would not be around that long, she immediately replaced the battery. When I asked for the cost, she said it was on her. I tried to insist on paying, but she held firm and would not take a fee. What a wonderful gesture, and Thank You Hila!!!!
