  Accused of theft!!!!! had an absolutely unacceptable experience at the Sunglass Hut in Warrington today. I walked in looking to purchase a new pair of sunglasses and was there for approximately five minutes with my twins in their stroller. The associate said hello when I entered but never approached me, offered assistance, or asked if I needed help. I tried on two pairs of sunglasses, neither worked for me, and I put both pairs back exactly where I found them. After looking around the store, I left and continued on my way. The associate then actually ran out of the store after me and, in an accusatory tone, demanded, “Where are the Gucci glasses? I saw you try them on.” I was completely taken aback. She had not seen me take anything, because I DID NOT take anything. More importantly, she apparently did not even bother to check whether the glasses were still in the store before chasing me down and accusing me of having them. I went back inside and immediately pointed to the two pairs I had tried on, sitting exactly where I had left them. Her response was essentially, “Oh, they’re there.” That is completely unacceptable. You do not chase a customer out of a store and accuse them of stealing merchandise based on an assumption, particularly when you have not even taken the most basic step of checking whether the merchandise is actually missing. What made the situation even worse was what happened afterward. I called the store to ask for the manager’s name so I could report the incident. The same associate told me that SHE was the manager, stated that she did not have to give me her name, hung up on me, and then stopped answering my calls. If this individual is in fact the manager of this location, that makes this experience even more concerning. A manager should understand basic customer service, professionalism, and how serious it is to accuse a customer of theft without first establishing that anything is even missing. I came into this store prepared to spend money on a new pair of designer sunglasses. Instead, I left after being publicly chased down and treated like a thief over a pair of glasses that were sitting inside the store the entire time. I will be escalating this experience directly to Sunglass Hut corporate. This behavior needs to be addressed.

  Sold me the display pair without informing me. Then when I called him out and asked for an online order to get an actual new pair he made it seem like this big hassle. Immediately returned the glasses. My wife and I wasted an hour here.

  Kathleen was exceptional! She explained all your products and benefits. She informed me that I can bring my sunglasses to get my eye glass prescription put into my shades. She shared personal experience with losing sunglasses. As I was hesitant to buy another pair because I lost my last pair. We even discussed a find my Rayban set internally in the glasses would be great in case your ever lose them. Especially for the new pair with the internal camera. Great experience.
