- JHJoshua HunterJul 18, 20261.0Avoid this place. Sam is nice and all but I would advise anyone to schedule at another location. My appointment was for 9am on Tuesday July 14th. My entire system was sent ahead of my appointment. The technician (Sam) said he had a brake job to finish before he could get to my vehicle and asked if I minded leaving it there because it would take around three hours to install. He asked if I minded picking it up around 6pm that evening or in an extreme case the next morning. I said I wouldn't mind if that was the case. I didn't receive a call the 14th that it was finished so around 10:15 Wednesday morning the 15th I called to ask if my installation was completed. Sam gave me some bs about he had to go get something from Smart start to finish my install. Even though everything for my system was shipped to him for my installation specifically. I said I dont buy that you had to go and get something for my install, Sam replied and said he would park my vehicle across the street and I could get it installed somewhere else. That he was passing up jobs just to help me, no my appointment was for 9am the day before, it isn't any fault of mine he doesn't run a better business and keep appointments prompt and do the work as its scheduled. Theres no need to make up some story or blame me for his scheduling. I immediately called Smart start customer service and explained what had transpired and that he had my vehicle for over 24 hours and hadn't started the installation and threatened to not do anything. The Smart start rep told me that it was very highly unlikely that he would have gone anywhere to get something for the install because everything comes from there warehouse and that my system was shipped complete to his shop on the 13th. My install should have been done on the 14th or been ready the 15th early am, instead I wasn't able to pick my vehicle up until 4pm on the 15th. Just be honest and say I didn't get to your vehicle because I had other jobs to complete. Be honest and say I haven't even started it yet instead of lying about needing to get some mystery part to complete the job. If that was really the case the installation would have been done early on the 15th when he arrived back from getting the part. I will not be returning to this location to get my device downloaded or removed when my time is done. I wouldn't have wrote this review but Smart start sent me a link and asked me to do so. As I mentioned go to another shop the technician here will not honor your appointment time, you will wait way longer than the estimated three hour installation time. If i could give zero stars, I would. People have jobs and lives that depend on prompt service and installation. What if i had taken the day off work to get my vehicle done and wasn't able to get it done in the three hours as promised? Smart start needs to do better with who installs and making appointments at shops that don't honor the appointment time because they have other things to work on.

What do I need for removal?
Requirements will differ by state, but generally your state authority must grant removal authorization before you can have your IID removed. How does an Interlock Device work?
When you blow into your Ignition Interlock Device, you're providing a breath test sample in order to start the vehicle. The device then measures your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC), and will either say that you passed, need to retest, or failed. You will be asked to take rolling retests throughout your drive.
What can breathalyzers detect?
Breathalyzers only measure your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC).
Is an Ignition Interlock the same as a breathalyzer?
Ignition Interlock and handheld breathalyzers both test your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC), but an Ignition Interlock Device is only installed in vehicles and prevents the car from starting if there is alcohol detected. A handheld breathalyzer only detects alcohol and may tell you the concentration.

Can someone else drive my car?
