  I had the opportunity to speak with Sarah, the owner of Blue Mountain Outfitters. She's incredibly knowledgeable about all aspects of kayaking, from fishing kayaks to recreational paddling, and her passion for what she does is evident. Sarah worked at Blue Mountain Outfitters for over fifteen years before buying the business and taking ownership. What impressed me most is how rare this is. A lot of paddle shops started back in the eighties and are now retiring out, but there aren't many people stepping up to take these businesses over. Shops like hers are becoming far and few between, which is why I make the hour and a half drive to support her instead of ordering online. As a small business owner myself, I really respect what she's built. The store has an incredible selection—everything from apparel and PFDs to kayaks, oars, and deep local knowledge of the Susquehanna. Her expertise and inventory make it a destination worth the drive. I highly recommend giving her a call or stopping by. Check them out.

  So happy we purchased new kayaks from Blue Mountain Outfitters! Sarah was so helpful, friendly and knowledgeable! Being new to this, she even illustrated how to secure the kayaks to the roof rack! Many high quality kayaks and canoes to choose from and reasonably priced! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!

  Dropped off my royalex mad river explorer for some cold crack repairs and new vinyl gunwales. Very happy with the results and the pricing! The shop also has plenty of gear.
