- ALAlexandra LashnerJun 7, 20263.0This is more of a reflection on corporate. I’ve been a customer for 20 years. I cannot call this actual store directly for help anymore. I dial the number, get a run around from robotic voice system, get transferred to my store only to then be speaking to an AI. Then when I ask it to transfer me to a human being it sends me to an offshore call center. I just need help figuring out what this new offering is for shoe repair and what the status is on my shoes that I dropped off and it took 15 minutes to get through to someone at the actual store.

Service wise though, you can reliably count on the people behind the counter to become visibly annoyed with you if you opt out of giving them your email and number (but first they will push you on it, repeatedly). It happens every single time, and it never feels good. I suspect the salespeople have managers breathing down their necks to collect customer info in this way, which sucks for them; but shouldn’t be an excuse to do a total 180 and become totally frosty and dismissive when a customer kindly declines.
