  Unorganized chaos. This location has lots of options, but things are chaotic. The section by the long dresses had bags and boxes all over the floor. Found an item I did want, but didn’t have a price tag on it. I waited in line and when I got to the register, the employee had to wait for someone else to double check her pricing estimate on the item. I then still had to wait in line again to be checked out. The girl on the register then didn’t know how to check me out and I had to pay for my item twice.

  After completing a move, I was cleaning out all the closets all the people in my house. I decided to take a sampling of each thing to Plato‘s Closet in Exton. This included a vintage drawstring dress, a Banana Republic women’s blazer in size 4, a Talbots dress, and a mix of women’s pants and various sizes for both going out or going to work. They only thing they offered to pay any money for was just under $8 for a pair of brand new Cole Hahn Shoes. I didn’t get a receipt for any donation. They just wanted to take the clothes, take the tax credit and not give me any money. Definitely do not recommend.

  Plato’s Closet has gotten progressively worse over the years. I honestly don’t know how they expect people to keep selling to them. I brought in 5 trash bags FULL of basically brand-new, name-brand clothing and shoes. Everything was in great condition, and some items were barely worn and bought within the last 2 years because I update my clothes frequently. They took an hour and a half to go through everything just to come back and say they were taking 5 items for a grand total of $19. $19. For 3 jackets and 2 sweaters. Absolutely ridiculous. Those items retail for $150 for all the items. What really made me laugh was that they tried to take a Victoria’s Secret/PINK Sherpa raincoat that I originally paid around $90 for as part of the items they were offering me money for. Yet somehow, after buying people’s clothes for practically nothing, these stores turn around and price the same items at several times what they paid for them. At this point, selling to Plato’s Closet feels like a complete waste of time. You wait forever while they go through your stuff, they reject the overwhelming majority of it—even when it’s in excellent condition—and then offer you next to nothing for the few things they do accept. I used to love Platos, but you have a better chance selling your things on Facebook marketplace, Poshmark, Vinted etc. The whole process feels like a scam. I’d rather donate my clothes than drive 35 minutes to the closest location and then spend an hour and a half waiting to be offered $19 for five items of quality, name-brand clothing.

  First time being at Plato’s and was absolutely not disappointed. The selection was more than I imagined. And a thank you to Paige for helping me out

  I haven't been to this location in forever. This was my second or third time ever coming back. A friend of mine warned me not to come because the employees won't look at what your selling and just immediately turn you away. I should've taken my friend's word for it because that's what happened. I brought in some pants only for the girl to barely look at them and saw that one pair had a stain on them. Like wow, I couldn't at least get 5 bucks for the few I brought in?? The customer service wasn't even the least warming at all. Just stale. I think that will be the last time I'll go there honestly.
