When I got to the register, the first two items rang up fine, but a polo shirt that retails for $49.99 rang up at full price. The entire rack where the shirt was displayed had clear promotional signs with the exact item description and brand, listing out tiered discounts: $44.99 items were marked down to $29.99, $54.99 items were down to $34.99, and so on. The printed chart just skipped the $49.99 price point, but it was clearly part of the same sale rack. I even walked back over to the rack with the cashier so they could see the signage and take a photo to bring up to management. Instead of honoring a proportional discount for an item clearly placed on a sale rack, the manager, Emily, refused to adjust the base price. She offered a standard 20% off coupon that was already running storewide today for everyone anyway. When I mentioned that I have a JCPenney card, she bumped the offer to 30% off standard MSRP, but that was just the standard today-only cardholder discount open to any cardholder anyway. They still completely refused to honor the posted sale price from the rack. It is frustrating to spend an hour picking out items based on what is posted on the floor only to have management refuse to stand by their own promotional displays. I left the entire cart at the register, and I won't be back to this store.
