I don't write reviews often, but big shout out to the customer service team for their help with a gift card issue. I think it was Kaitlyn, Jennifer, and Megan who i worked with. They went above and beyond helping getting my issue resolved, and its rare to see the level of compassion they showed it solving the problem. Im absolutely a lifetime fan (even more than I was) after they helped me out!

I just wanted to reach out directly to someone who could help make sure this message gets to the manager at the Cabela’s location in Oklahoma City, OK. My 11-year-old son and I visited your store around 5:30 p.m. on Friday, August 7th. My son has recently become very interested in bows and arrows, so we spent quite a bit of time in the archery department looking at the options. We were greeted by an older gentleman whose name, unfortunately, we didn’t catch. I really wish we had, because I cannot say enough about how wonderful he was. My son spent probably 30–40 minutes asking him question after question about bows and arrows. My son is very particular about the things he chooses, so before purchasing one, he asked if he could get a feel for the bow and make sure it was right for him. I completely understood if that wasn’t something the employee could accommodate, and I was prepared for my son to simply have to choose one without trying it. Instead, this gentleman went above and beyond. He took the time to properly size my son for a bow, explained how everything worked, and even allowed him to shoot while in the store. He patiently showed him pointers and helped him learn without ever once becoming frustrated or making him feel like he was asking too many questions. What made the interaction even more meaningful is that my son has very poor vision. He explained this to the employee, and the gentleman was incredibly understanding and accommodating. He took the time to make sure my son could understand and comfortably participate, rather than treating his vision impairment as a limitation. We ultimately left the store with the bow and arrows that he had helped size my son for. But more importantly, we left with an experience that meant so much to my son. He talked about that employee and the experience the entire night. At 11 years old, having an adult take the time to genuinely listen to him, teach him something he was excited about, and treat him with patience and kindness made a huge impression on him. I know employees are often contacted when something goes wrong, but I wanted to make sure someone heard about something that went very right. Please pass along my sincere appreciation to this gentleman and, if possible, let his manager know what an incredible representative he was for Cabela’s. He didn’t simply help us purchase a bow—he created a memorable experience for my son that he will probably remember for a very long time. Thank you for having employees who are willing to take the extra time to make a child feel seen, heard, and welcome.

Upon the store opening, I went in and went to the fishing section and made contact with a young girl in the fishing section. I asked where the pole stands are and she responded. I don’t know. I asked for her help, but she could not get off of her phone long enough to help me so I actually found the pole stands. I asked her if she had Any 3 1/2 gallon buckets and all she responded was I don’t know as she was on her telephone. This young lady needs to have her telephone taken away from her because she can’t get off it long enough to help a customer and I have never been in a Cabela’s before, and this is my first experience! This isn’t good for you all. Next time I’ll go to Bass Pro shop Now Kaitlyn and I believe his name was Jeremy, they were very nice to me and helped me out. I’m giving a kudos to those two.
