They are not fully accessible and are not very knowledgeable when questions arise for personal and mechanics maintenance. Charges are ridiculous for each violation when blows are accidentally missed. The local calibration I chose to use are only opened on Wednesdays. The handset continuously restart to having you to blow randomly with 3 or so minute countdowns. Maybe they’re all the same 🤷🏻♀️

How does an Interlock Device work?
When you blow into your Ignition Interlock Device, you're providing a breath test sample in order to start the vehicle. The device then measures your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC), and will either say that you passed, need to retest, or failed. You will be asked to take rolling retests throughout your drive.

Breathalyzers only measure your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC).
Is an Ignition Interlock the same as a breathalyzer?
Ignition Interlock and handheld breathalyzers both test your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC), but an Ignition Interlock Device is only installed in vehicles and prevents the car from starting if there is alcohol detected. A handheld breathalyzer only detects alcohol and may tell you the concentration.
