  I have been coming to the JCPenney Salon at Quaker Bridge specifically to have my hair done by Shelly, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about her. She is an absolute professional and incredibly talented. My hair is healthier than it has been in years. It’s now down to my shoulder blades, and sometimes I honestly can’t believe this is my hair. Shelly gets five stars from me every single time. With all of that said, I was incredibly disappointed when I came in today and learned that Tracy, who worked at the front desk, had been terminated. I was honestly floored. Tracy was the face of that salon. When you walked through the door, her smile and greeting immediately set the tone. She remembered you. She made conversation.She offered you water or coffee. She called to remind you about your appointments. She made you feel welcomed and valued. Those things matter. And I know firsthand just how much Tracy brought to the customer experience. Before I became a regular at Quaker Bridge, I had an appointment scheduled at the Freehold salon right before I was leaving for vacation. The day before my appointment, I received a call telling me my stylist was unavailable because she was on vacation. I was panicked.I was leaving for vacation and needed my hair done. Freehold’s suggestion was basically to go down to Asbury Park and see if I could find a walk-in. Seriously? The manager later called to apologize and offered me 25% off another service, but by then the damage was done, keep your 25% off. Thankfully, I reached out to the Quaker Bridge salon, and that is when I experienced the AMAZING Tracy. She felt terrible about how the situation had been handled and immediately went to work trying to help me. She worked with Shelly to fit me in, and that experience is ultimately how I found what I considered my salon home. Shelly was obviously a huge part of that, but so was Tracy. The entire experience mattered, from the moment I walked through the door until the moment I left. I hadn’t been in for about six weeks, and I was genuinely looking forward to seeing Tracy, catching up about our summers, and being greeted by that big smile. Instead, I walked in and there really isn’t anyone consistently at the front desk now. Stylists who are in the middle of doing someone’s hair are having to stop what they’re doing and come up front to see what someone needs. How exactly is that an improvement for the customer OR the stylists? As a loyal customer, I can say without hesitation that Tracy brought something incredibly valuable to that salon. She was warm, professional, attentive, and exceptional at making people feel welcome. Her absence was noticeable the minute I walked through the door. JCPenney, you seriously need to get it together. When you have an employee who makes customers actually look forward to walking through your doors, recognize the value in that. Whatever the reasoning behind this decision, from this customer’s perspective, the salon experience is worse without Tracy there. Five stars for Shelly, without question. But the decision to let Tracy go? ZERO stars! And as a customer who finally felt like she had found her salon home, I am incredibly disappointed.

  I feel bad for them but you can't expect us to shop in store if only ONE register is open...at least on the First flloor. I can't recommend. I don't intend to return.

  I feel this store is outdated, the products are not modern enough and the lighting is horrible. I enjoy shopping in Macy more. The staff was not as good and friendly . I am not going back. It looks like it is going to close down soon with all these marked down items that are not in good condition at all
