Worst customer service experience, even Costco has better customer service than this Chanel Boutique.
First, they refused to honor the complimentary bag spa service for my Large Classic Flap, even though it is still within the five-year warranty. Instead, SA Iris had the audacity to suggest that I purchase leather conditioner and handle it myself at home.
I had originally sent my bag in for a clasp repair due to tarnishing, which they did replace under warranty. However, when the bag was returned, it was handed to me in a paper bag. When I asked for a dust bag, Iris and Erika told me that dust bags are only provided at the time of purchase and that I should have brought mine. While I understand they are not obligated to provide one, the situation only worsened from there.
When I asked Iris to at least wrap the bag in paper for protection, she reached for the same torn wrapping paper it originally came in. I requested fresh paper, and she responded by asking if I wanted to wrap it myself. When I pointed out that this was her responsibility, she claimed I had “assumed” she was using the same paper - even though that was exactly what she reached for. When I acknowledged that I did assume, given the level of service I had been receiving, she told me that I “mustn’t assume,” which felt incredibly dismissive and inappropriate toward a customer.
To top it all off, they didn’t even have a Chanel shopping bag available and asked if I was okay with a plain black paper bag. At that point, I agreed - I would rather have any bag than carry a $10,000+ handbag out by hand after such an experience.
I will not be shopping at this store again, and honestly, this experience has made me reconsider shopping with the brand for quite some time.
I will reach out to Chanel customer care to inquire about supposedly free bag spa service which was denied to me.
