  I had an extremely disappointing experience at Alo in Short Hills involving the manager, Valerie. During our returns, her approach was accusatory, disrespectful, and far from the level of professionalism I would expect from someone in a management position. She claimed that my sweatsuit “smelled like weed,” and when my sister attempted to return her item, Valerie accused her of having washed it and then reapplied the original tags. That accusation was especially troubling and honestly difficult to understand. Refusing a return based on a legitimate store policy is one thing, but making serious assumptions about customers without clear evidence is completely different. What concerned me even more was the difference in how Valerie appeared to interact with other customers. Prior to helping us, I observed her assisting customers of other races in a noticeably different and more accommodating manner. From my perspective, there appeared to be favoritism in who she was willing to help and how she chose to treat certain customers. The difference in treatment made both my sister and me feel singled out, judged, and discriminated against. A manager should be able to objectively assess merchandise, clearly explain store policies, and treat every customer with the same level of courtesy and respect. Customers should not feel that policies or customer service are being applied selectively depending on who is standing at the counter. I believe this situation was handled unfairly and unprofessionally. Because of the seriousness of the interaction and the way we were treated, I will also be reaching out to Alo corporate and the Better Business Bureau to formally document my concerns. Unfortunately, after this experience, Alo has lost my business.

  Worst service experience I've ever had in my life! Super rude staff, judgmental looks... As soon as I realized the bad service I left the store and didn’t buy anything, negative energy! I'll never come back

  had an amazing experience at this store. the employee helping was a sweetheart, unfortunately did not catch her name. went in for an exchange, she guided me to the product and even checked the back for me for different colors. minus 1 star because my white sweater has a stain that nobody caught and the return/exchange situation with alo is a nightmare!

  Worst experience, and terrible return and exchange policy! Was looking to exchange the same item (first and last alo purchase) outside of the return period. Rather than processing the exchange for a first time customer trying to buy more, the store manager rudely referred me to the vaguely worded return policy that somehow also includes exchanges. For the price, the customer service should be much better.

  Amazing experience at All In Short Hills! A worker gave the absolute best service — extremely nice, professional, and willing to work with us to make everything perfect. Truly appreciated the hospitality and positive energy. Highly recommend! Thank you Ashley!
