  I came in looking for a skateboard—Zumiez doesn’t carry them anymore, and Vans decks were never really my style. This was the only shop nearby that still had them, so I spent $400. Actually, $500. No problems with the store itself. I’m still working on the assembly, and I don’t understand why Van couldn’t just do it for me. Yes, I may have had a few drinks and had multiple shopping bags in hand—just stating the facts. People actually walked up to me thinking I worked there, and I gladly helped them. I even fixed a deck and gave it to a little kid because that’s what you do. After spending what I did, someone asked me about a pair of shoes. I recommended them, bought a pair for myself, and you know the rest. P.S. I’m not changing my story—it is what it is. I love these shoes, by the way. My first pair. I just don’t understand how I can spend that much money and not go home with all my hardware—no truck supports, assembly required by me, no bearing spacers. I’ll hold you to what you said. You still have five stars from me. Thank you—I now have a bunch of hardware. All I need is some trucks and a new deck. And as much love as I was given up at that time. Excuse my typos I use voice to text. The shoes all the way to the right. I will call those checkmates we don't play checkers anymore. Even more intricate calling shogi. Either way I like them, I love them. Thanks for reaching me.   I had an outstanding experience today at the Vans store located at 1 Garden State Plaza in Paramus, NJ, and I want to take a moment to recognize someone who truly made a difference. As someone connected to a large skating community, I’ve seen a decline in compassion and authenticity in modern skate shops. That’s why this experience stood out so much. Luka represents exactly what the culture needs more of—good character, respect, and real support for the people walking through the door. What many people don’t realize is that a great skate session starts long before the first trick—it starts with every interaction leading up to it. Luka helped reset my entire day in a positive direction, and that means a lot. Because of this experience, I’ll absolutely be returning and continuing to support this location.
