  I had an outstanding experience at Scheels in Lincoln, Nebraska, and I wanted to recognize a few employees who truly went above and beyond. I stopped in looking for a more durable air mattress than the one I've been using, and I was able to find one that looks much better suited to my needs. I was also searching for a larger camping cot. One of the associates took the time to help me find one that I could actually try in the store. It was significantly larger than my old cot, supported my entire body comfortably, and the spring-supported design felt far more comfortable than the style I had been using. I really appreciated being able to test it before making such an important purchase. As I was checking out, Store Manager Katelyn took the time to answer my questions about the available discounts and made the entire checkout process easy and enjoyable. What stood out even more than her knowledge was her genuine kindness. She treated me like a valued customer rather than just another transaction. We ended up having a wonderful conversation, and both she and another cashier were incredibly supportive of military members. As a veteran, that meant a great deal to me. The conversation didn't stop at shopping, either. Since I'm only visiting Lincoln for work, they happily shared recommendations for local restaurants and things to do around town. That kind of hospitality isn't something you expect to find in a retail store, and it made me feel genuinely welcome. Before leaving, I was introduced to Rebecca, who normally works in the clothing department. Although the specific item I had originally been searching for wasn't available, she didn't stop there. She took the time to help me find an alternative that fit my needs, ultimately helping me choose a pair of lightweight work pants that should be much more comfortable during long days on job sites. She was patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely interested in helping me find the right solution instead of simply making a sale. Customer service like this has become increasingly rare, and it's worth recognizing when you experience it. Every employee I interacted with was friendly, approachable, knowledgeable, and sincerely invested in making sure I left happy. Thank you to Katelyn, Rebecca, and the rest of the team for making what could have been a routine shopping trip into such a positive experience. I'll absolutely be back the next time I'm in Lincoln.

  First time at Scheels and I was blown away! Not only by what they have to offer, but more so about their customer service. There was always someone within reach to ask for help. Staff engaged in actual conversation and seemed not only willing to help but happy to! What an incredible experience.

  Joel in archery is awesome. Worked with me awhile ago when I didn’t have a clue what I was doing. Now I’m getting better and he (and all the guys) are so helpful and cool up there. Got my daughter going and I would recommend anyone thinking about archery or bowhunting to see them - very impressed! Scheels is lucky to have a guy like Joel running that department no question.

  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing experience at Shields Sporting Goods in Lincoln. From the moment I walked in, the customer service stood out. The facility was clean, the restrooms were clean, and the whole place was well kept and organized. What really set this visit apart was how the staff engaged with me. Instead of the typical "can I help you" that everyone just brushes off with "no, I'm fine," they actually asked how my day was going and what I was specifically shopping for. That small difference made the whole experience feel genuine instead of forced. I was looking for an expert, and I found one. The staff member I worked with knew the products inside and out, walked me through my options, and showed me exactly what I needed. Because of that expert help, I ended up purchasing one of the products I had been looking for. Shout out to the team at Shields in Lincoln. We will definitely be back.
