Went to sell to hopefully make a quick buck, despite knowing half of it wouldn’t be taken from reviews I had read online from this location and others around the country. I dropped off a clothes basket containing two stacks of neat and precisely folded clothes. When I went to drop off the clothes, the employee explaining the buying process continued her conversation about lunch to her friend, and had to fight the urge to roll her eyes at me. I understand this is a college town establishment and the employees here are simply working for a paycheck, but I would think one could care somewhat about their job. I was initially warned that a large buy had come in before me, and it would be awhile before they could sort through my clothes basket with an approximate pickup time of 2:45PM. I received a text to pickup at 2:05PM. As I returned to pickup the clothes, they sat in complete and utter disarray, sloppily folded and thrown into the laundry basket.
I’m happy with the money I made quickly from the clothes Plato’s DID take; however, the service was absolutely horrendous, and I plan to shop and sell secondhand elsewhere from now on.

As a Canadian who thrifts everything I have; this store is an embarrassment in the name of thrifting. It’s a massive corporation meant to rip people off while holding an unnecessary pretentious attitude towards the costumers they buy from. They sell things THEY buy from costumers and still have the audacity to act like they run a high end store. Also why are you paying me $4 for a pair of jeans I bought from H&M and wore ONCE, and wanted to donate so they wouldn’t end up in the garbage. This is just straight up disrespectful. What a scam.

I just want to say that I had the worst experience selling my clothes at this location. First of all, I took in a bag of clothes and granted that I didn’t expect them to take in everything, they only ended up taking a dress that I had worn once that I originally purchased for $20. It was in great condition and they told me they could only give me $3 for it….. lol. This was a huge rip off and honestly disrespectful to the customers. This store is a pretentious rip off scam and their staff needs some serious training how to offer reasonable prices for things. you’re working in a thrift store, not a Chanel calm down.
