Plato's Closet buys and sells gently used clothing, shoes, sneakers, accessories and athletic wear for teens and young adults in South Charlotte. Sell styles you no longer wear for cash on the spot, or shop thrifted, secondhand, and resale fashion, including trendy, brand-name styles for less. With 500+ independently owned and operated locations across the U.S. and Canada, fresh inventory arriving daily, Plato's Closet makes thrifting easy, affordable, and more sustainable.
Don’t sell your clothes here. I got $11 total for one pair of revice denim jeans and a brand new pair of heels that were in the box with tissue paper still holding them. Meanwhile when I was browsing in the store I found an old mini mouse crop shirt selling for $8. This is just greed.

I understand that not every item brought into the store will be accepted, and I completely respect that. However, I think the wording in the rejection script could be improved. Referring to items as “dusty” can come across as insulting and unnecessary, especially when customers have taken the time to clean and prepare their clothing.
What made the comment more frustrating was that the store itself appeared dusty in several areas. Because of that, hearing items described as “dusty” felt inconsistent and unnecessarily critical.
A more professional and customer-friendly approach would be to simply explain that items are not being accepted at this time due to current inventory needs, style trends, condition standards, or buying guidelines. Consistent and respectful messaging would make the experience feel much more polished and welcoming.
This feedback is intended to be constructive. I enjoy shopping at Plato’s Closet and hope this suggestion helps improve the customer experience for future customers.

Don’t waste your time! They must not like name brand clothing. Took a big bag full of Nordstrom, WHBM, Cache, etc and didn’t take ANY of it. Said the reason was wear and tear. There were a lot with tags even still on! Did offer me $2.50 for a new Zara top. NO THANK YOU! Do yourself a favor and just donate to Goodwill or Salvation Army.

Horrible customer service. They did not even open the bags with the clothes I brought in to sell before rejecting them. Very disappointing experience and felt like a complete waste of time.
