Worst cashier experience ever! She tried to explain that the windows were priced using “L × W × 2” in inches—which made no sense. Another employee eventually helped us get the correct price, but after the cashier gave us the total and I swiped my card, the amount charged was nearly 30% higher. We had to involve a manager, and the cashier then began calling us names in Spanish—apparently unaware that some of us “gringos” understand Spanish. I sincerely hope she has a better day tomorrow, but customers should be careful.

Sadly, I drove 27 minutes to get there and the doors were locked for a staff meeting. There were 5 other cars there, all getting disappointed!

One star for closing the outdoor area early. There’s no employees/volunteers in the store, why does it matter?

I had a very disappointing experience with Habitat for Humanity ReStore. On 6/25, I purchased an item that had already been priced and paid for. When I sent a mover to pick it up on 6/27, Mike Franks told him, in a very rude manner, that the sale had been canceled because the item was priced too low. He stated there was “nothing I could do about it” and that they were within their rights to return the item. I then called to discuss the situation myself, and Mike continued to speak to me in an unprofessional and dismissive tone, insisting the item would be returned and that there was nothing I could do. Because of this, I had to leave my home and meet the mover at the store. After speaking with his supervisor, Mike was informed that they could not cancel the sale after an item had already been priced and purchased. Even then, he remained impolite and commented that they were “losing money” by selling it at that price. This is especially disappointing because these are donated items. The purpose of Habitat for Humanity ReStore is to provide affordable goods to the community while supporting a great mission. Instead, it feels like some stores are trying to maximize profits by overpricing donated merchandise. In this case, they even wanted to charge more than the price listed on their own pricing guide for the item. I support Habitat for Humanity’s mission, but the way this situation was handled was unacceptable. Customers deserve to be treated with respect, and stores should honor the prices they set instead of attempting to reverse completed sales because they later decide the price was too low. I hope management addresses both the customer service issues and the inconsistent pricing practices so others don’t have a similar experience.
