  I used to love this Belk! But since they combined the mens and women's sections into one store, its not a great experience. It feels disjointed and hard to shop. Feels like a Macys (not in a good way).

  I had not been in Belks in quite a few years. They still have a great selection of merchandise, wonderful prices and the floor displays were very eye-catching. I very much enjoyed the housewares up on the third floor.

  Why this store smell weird and my clothes that I brought there smell like that? Mold? Is this a safe for costumers and employee?

  I cannot believe that, after shopping at Belk for so many years, I experienced this level of customer service. Today, I came into the store to shop for some outfits for my husband and needed assistance. As I walked toward the Polo department, I noticed several employees standing together talking and whispering instead of helping customers. I asked one of the associates if they could help me find a shirt to match a pair of pants I had selected. They pointed me to the Polo specialist. As I approached the Polo specialist, he saw me walking toward him but turned around and began talking to another associate instead. When I finally spoke to him, he told me, “I’ll be right with you.” I completely understand if an associate is helping another customer or is busy, but instead of assisting me, he continued standing there gossiping and laughing with the other associate about coworkers. I waited approximately 10 minutes while they continued their conversation before receiving any help. It was very disappointing to feel ignored as a customer while employees were engaged in personal conversations. I have always enjoyed shopping at Belk, which is why this experience was so surprising and disappointing. I expect a higher level of professionalism and customer service. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I do not plan on shopping at this location again.
