Very disappointing experience and poor customer service.
I brought in a large amount of clothing to sell and was told I would have to wait approximately 30 minutes. Instead, I waited an entire hour, only to be told that they were declining my clothing because they only accept certain brands.
What I found especially frustrating is that a large portion of the clothing I brought was from Fashion Nova, which is a brand I saw being sold in the store. If Fashion Nova is accepted in the store, I’m not sure why my items were immediately considered unacceptable.
While I was there, I also noticed three dresses on the racks that were ripped. That was very disappointing to see, especially after being told that my clothing was not good enough to be accepted.
I completely understand having quality and brand standards, but the inconsistency, lack of communication, and one-hour wait made this experience extremely frustrating. If customers are expected to meet certain requirements, those standards should be applied consistently to all merchandise.
I would not recommend coming here if you value your time and expect professional customer service. Management should seriously consider improving the evaluation process and communication with customers.

I usually don’t write reviews, but my experience at Plato’s Closet was extremely disappointing. The ladies working here were very unprofessional, and their attitudes were distasteful and unwelcoming. I honestly got the impression that they simply did not want to take the time to properly look through the items I brought in.
What made the experience even more frustrating was overhearing one of the employees say they were going to donate another customer’s belongings because the customer wasn’t coming to pick them up when the employee wanted her to. Then, when I received my order back and asked if they could simply donate the items they didn’t take, I was told that wasn’t an option. That was very confusing considering what I had just overheard
I completely understand that not every item will be accepted, and that isn’t my issue. My issue is the inconsistency, the attitudes, and the lack of professionalism. Customers are trusting you with their belongings, so communication and respectful customer service should be a priority. Unfortunately, this experience left a very bad impression on me.

I am beyond disappointed with my experience at Plato’s Closet. I spent so much time washing, organizing, and bringing in my clothes, only to feel like they barely looked through them before making a decision. It honestly felt like they were cherry-picking items based on their own personal preferences instead of what customers would actually buy.
What upset me the most is that I believe some of my clothing wasn’t returned to me. That is incredibly concerning, and I encourage anyone selling here to keep a detailed list or photos of every item they bring in before handing anything over.
The employees working on August 2 were very unprofessional. Their appearance looked sloppy and unkempt, their attitudes were rude and dismissive, and they made the entire experience feel uncomfortable. It also seemed like they gave special treatment to people they personally knew who came in to sell items, while the rest of us were treated like an inconvenience.
After reading other reviews, I realized I’m not the only person who has had a negative experience here. I wish I had read them beforehand. This was a huge waste of my time, and I left feeling frustrated, disrespected, and honestly taken advantage of. I will never return and would not recommend this location to anyone.
