  Teresa and Crystal, if you’re reading this, I hope you treat future customers with more professionalism and respect than you showed me. I ordered a pair of Michael Kors shoes from Belk online and received the wrong shoes entirely. They were the wrong size, wrong color, appeared to have been worn, and looked like they had been placed in a different box. Instead of receiving help when I brought them back to the store, I was immediately treated as if I had done something wrong. What was most disappointing is that one of the employees involved was a manager. As a customer, I would expect a manager to de-escalate concerns, listen to the facts, and help resolve the issue professionally. Instead, both employees were rude, accusatory, and argumentative. Rather than investigating the obvious issue with the merchandise I received, they repeatedly implied that I had worn the shoes myself and was attempting to return them. The interaction became so hostile that I was embarrassed in front of other customers waiting in line. No customer should be treated that way, especially when they are simply trying to return an item that was shipped incorrectly. Eventually, Belk refunded my money, which confirms there was a legitimate issue with the merchandise I received. The problem wasn’t just the incorrect order—it was the way I was treated while trying to resolve it. I’ve been a Belk customer for nearly 30 years, and this was by far the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had with the company. Mistakes happen, but the way this situation was handled was completely unacceptable. Belk management should review this incident and ensure that customers are treated with respect and professionalism going forward.

  Shopping at Belk feels like being trapped inside a credit card pep rally. The constant intercom announcements bragging about how many signups they got are so obnoxious. Congrats, I guess? I was just trying to look at shirts, not be subjugated to a running scoreboard for financial regret.

  I just love Belk. I seem to get great deals between the sales and clearance. My husband even enjoys it and as most women experience, their husbands are not fans of any kind of shopping.
