I’m forced to admit that the "mall era" might officially be dead. Southpoint's big stores are decent, though they seem to be running on a skeleton crew of about three people total. But nothing tests your survival instincts quite like the center aisle. I got absolutely ambushed by the anti-wrinkle cream girl entering the mall, and she had the audacity to try me again on the way out. At least the experience gave me a profound new appreciation for my own line of work. Next time, I’m wearing a disguise.

This is still a great mall and outdoor shopping area but it no longer has fountains, sculptures and live gardens. Just sterile with tacky fake flowers. The outdoor space no longer matches the caliber of stores. Hot with no shade and no relief

Plenty of good stuff at the mall! I even got to see a "street performer" juggling objects and balancing on various awkward devices at the same time! The prices for merch are ridiculous and the sellers all have the same response "I have to pay for rent space". That kind of peeved me because there was no flexibility and it takes away from sellers trying to be reasonable when it comes to attracting customers and selling merch. The booth vendors were charging more than the mainstream retailers! The food court was clean and food was good! I rather go there to eat than to buy anything else! Oh, and the AMC Theatre was expensive as well! The seats are comfortable, the screens are huge, the sound system is extremely loud, but give me the old seats, regular screens, sound tjat I can hear without bursting an eardrum, and lower prices anyway (that's just me)!

I live in Fayetteville, NC and thought that this was a great place for a day visit to get out of the house, and I was right! My girls and I had so much fun seeing the different stores and trying new things. My back was hurting from all of the walking but it was worth it to see the smiles on my young adult's faces ❤️

Really not cool that Southpoint is slowly becoming a hub for the ultra-wealthy here in Durham. Fazing out accessible and local stores in favor of luxury brands that only.01% of Durham residents can actually afford... Not cute! It's also really not cute that you are refusing to renew the leases for very successful local stores such as Ultimate Comics so that you can move in more "tasteful" (expensive) brands... This mall is genuinely becoming unbearable to visit, and there's nothing really worth shopping for here unless you have thousands to spend on marked up garbage with name recognition... All that combined with the increased police presence, it's really sending the message that the Common People of the triangle are not welcome here.
