I had such a wonderful experience at Plato’s Closet today! The staff was incredibly kind, welcoming, and understanding. I brought in a few items knowing that they may not be able to take everything, and I completely understood. They ended up taking a pair of heels that I brought in, and they even offered me a little more than I was expecting. It was such a simple but thoughtful gesture, and I truly appreciated the kindness behind it. The employee was so pleasant and made the experience feel comfortable and positive. Thank you to the Plato’s Closet team for being so kind and providing such great customer service. I really appreciate the experience and will definitely be back! 💕

I don’t typically leave reviews, but this store has been consistently disappointing. Every single time I’ve been here, the store has been in complete disarray. The racks are overflowing, clothes are piled everywhere, and the entire store feels messy and unorganized. I’ve attempted to sell clothes here multiple times, and every single time I’ve been handed back my entire bag folded the EXACT same way I packed it. I intentionally fold my clothes a certain way, and they come back exactly as I left them, untouched. I’ve been told my items are “too old,” but there’s no way anyone could know that when my bags were never even looked through. What makes it even more frustrating is that I’ve brought in brands like Free People, Dr. Martens, and Anthropologie in great condition, only to have them rejected. Meanwhile, the store is full of flimsy fast-fashion pieces from Shein and Amazon that look like they’ll fall apart after one wash. The buying process feels completely inconsistent.just because something isn’t your personal taste doesn’t mean someone else won’t like it. I understand that Plato’s Closet can’t accept everything, but customers deserve to have their items actually be evaluated before being turned away. After multiple experiences like this, I won’t be wasting my time bringing clothes to this location again.

I stopped by the Plato's Closet in Durham and was super impressed. The selection here is fantastic!everything is really well organized, clean, and they have a ton of great brands to choose from compared to other locations I've been to. I ended up getting some lulu men's pants and a really clean pair of NB 9060's for a really good deal! An extra huge shoutout to Amber who was incredibly helpful, friendly. It's rare to get customer service like that these days, and she definitely went above and beyond. I'll absolutely be back to both buy and try to sell!!

I like the clothing selection at this store, but I feel like they are prejudiced toward people of color. This isn't the first time I've brought clothes to this location and felt like I was treated this way, so I finally decided to say something. When I brought in my clothes to sell, I noticed I was getting unpleasant looks from the employees. While I was shopping in the store, I felt like they were watching me and waiting for me to leave instead of treating me like any other customer. It honestly made me feel really sad and uncomfortable. I brought in several brand-new items, including American Eagle jeans and shorts with the original tags still attached, along with brand-new summer dresses with tags. However, the employee only looked at the shirt that was on top of the bag. They didn't even go through the rest of my clothing while I was in the store. I stayed inside shopping for a while, and they still hadn't looked through my bag. When I decided to walk next door, I received a text less than five minutes later saying they were finished. Based on how quickly they responded, I don't believe they took the time to properly go through everything I brought in. The entire experience left me feeling embarrassed, ashamed, and like I was treated differently. Whether intentional or not, that's how the experience came across to me. I hope this store takes concerns like this seriously and ensures every customer is treated with fairness and respect.

Great Plato’s closet and very helpful staff and great service by associates. Only removed one star since their inventory is full but that is not their fault. I hope to be back here selling clothes as a 42 year old man in West Cary. Thank you for excellent customer service and phone support. They don’t hang up on me like some other businesses tend to do because of my speech impediment so thank you so much for all your help. Hope to raise to 5 stars very soon. Thanks. Well worth the drive from Cary and walked 2.3 miles while waiting for my clothes.
