Worst experience here. I came in on Sunday to exchange an item and went to customer service. There were two associates at the register helping another customer. When one of them finished, she looked at me but didn’t greet me at all. Instead, she stared me up and down and turned to the other associate to talk about a refund for a different customer, completely ignoring me.
Another customer then walked up and stood next to me, and suddenly the same associate who ignored me greeted her right away and asked how she could help. She even started assisting her in picking out a dress. At that point, I asked if she hadn’t seen me standing there for almost 10 minutes.
She responded with a nasty attitude, saying the other customer had been there before me and had just stepped away. She also made a comment implying that the other customer was purchasing something, unlike me. However, based on how she greeted her, it didn’t seem like that was the case. When I first got in line, she was already helping someone else, so I don’t understand how that customer could have been waiting longer than me.
Regardless, she could have at least acknowledged me or greeted me. Instead, she continued with a rude attitude, laughed in my face, and said she was tired of people being mad all the time. I was never “mad”—I was upset because I felt disrespected.
This behavior was extremely unprofessional. It honestly felt intentional and discriminatory, as she continued giving me dirty looks while treating the other customer—who appeared to be of the same background as her—completely differently.
I felt very disrespected, as if my time and money didn’t matter. Management needs to seriously evaluate the kind of employees they are hiring.

I had the absolute best experience at Belk thanks to Aziz in the Polo Ralph Lauren section. He is the sweetest gentleman and truly went above and beyond for both me and my husband. From the moment we walked in, he made us feel so welcomed and taken care of.
Aziz has such a warm, pleasant energy and is incredibly kind, professional, and attentive. You can tell he genuinely cares about people, not just making a sale. Because of him, our whole experience felt special and memorable—not just another shopping trip.
Honestly, he’s the kind of employee that makes you want to come back and shop at Belk again and again. I really wish there were more people like him. He absolutely deserves recognition (and a raise!) for the way he represents the store.

The air-conditioning is not maintained properly here. It's so hot we can't even enjoy shopping. On top of that the choices in the women's clothing selection have become dismal or plain weird. The shoe selection gets smaller every year. Pretty soon there will be nothing to choose from.

One dressing room for the entire women's floor. No dressing room right by the bras. I got in line behind 7 other women waiting to try stuff on & decided that Belk must not want my money very much because I didn't want to spend at least 30 minutes waiting to try on several hundred dollars worth of dresses that I really liked. Belk managers be grateful many of your customers are more patient than I am because your store is RIDICULOUS!
If I could give 0 stars, I would. No wonder brick & mortar stores are struggling. I drove an hour out of my way to get the sizes I needed from your app. I'll be uninstalling it next.

I had a very disappointing and humiliating experience at Belk Store #242 (6910 Fayetteville Rd, Durham, NC) on April 6, 2026, around 6:20 PM.
I was purchasing clothing, and my checkout needed to be split between an in-store purchase and an online order. After I had already completed and paid for the in-store portion, Associate #046116 at Register 143 made me step aside and began helping other customers, even though my transaction was not finished.
When I returned to complete the online portion, she scanned the same shirt twice instead of scanning two different shirts, which caused me to be charged incorrectly. I politely asked about the price difference, but instead of checking the items she had scanned, she blamed me, shoved the shirt aside, and told me to just return it. She refused to verify the mistake.
What made the situation far worse was her behavior when I asked for a manager. She loudly announced, within earshot of me and other customers, that a “crazy lady” was there and would not leave. That was deeply insulting and completely unacceptable.
Manager Karren Gentry then came over, but instead of addressing the incorrect order or the associate’s conduct, she ignored the actual issue and told me to step back or security would be called. I left the store feeling embarrassed, disrespected, and humiliated.
Because the associate scanned the wrong item into an online delivery order, fixing the problem became much more difficult than a normal in-store mistake. I ended up having to call Belk three separate times just to get the order canceled and corrected.
This was not just a checkout error — it was poor customer service, public humiliation, and a complete failure by management to handle the situation professionally. I expect customers to be treated with basic respect, and that did not happen here.
