David has been very helpful in the process of getting my watch, he has been easy to communicate with and made stopping into the store enjoyable. He is very knowledgeable about watches as someone I was with is a big Grand Seiko fan and David clearly knew his stuff. The whole staff was welcoming and attentive.

Sales associate threw the bezel protector for my Panerai in the trash. As she was was retrieving it and trying to clean it, I asked another associate for a new one and he didn’t bother to look for one. They also did not produce the correct strap for the complimentary strap exchange that is supposed to occur when you send a panerai in for service. In fact, the strap that was returned looks more worn than the new strap that I had just installed in the watch.

Well, what can I say...I love this place.
Let me start by saying I frequent this place because I love window shopping timepieces. I've become a timepiece collector and the majority of my collection is from Windsor's. Not only Windsor's, but David (Manager) himself.
Not only did Windsor's source me my first ever Rolex, David helped introduce and educate me to other brands. I've acquired 5 total timepieces from them, as well as, help set my wife's new wedding ring (Heidi helped us on that). No matter what, they remain patient, welcoming, and always have something new to offer.
Male associate was rude, particularly to my girlfriend. For example, he immediately dismissed her idea of me trying on a specific band she pointed out, stating I wouldn't like it. Whatever band it ends up being, it'll be special because she chose it. He also objected to other preferences she stated she wanted in a ring (6 prongs instead of 4, and 14k instead of 18k gold), as if he knew what she wanted. Overall unpleasant experience

UPDATE: to my complete surprise, Windsor reached out to me after seeing this review. Jackie, the Rolex ops manager, personally called me to discuss the incident and invite me back into the store. Jackie was extremely warm and welcoming. The kind of person you would love as a neighbor or friend. She said she would handle my Rolex inquiry going forward and assist with anything else I needed. I inquired about a Longine Spirit Pilot and within days she had the watch in the store. When I came in, everyone greeted me including Ben, the man at the door in the beginning. They were all so genuine! I thought in 2026 businesses don’t care about the consumer like I’m just another fish in the pond. But they really gave me the time of day and attention that made my 2nd visit to the store a dream. They even fixed a squeak in my other watch and cleaned my fiancees ring! Jackie, Ben, and all of Windsor, thank you for making things right.
Original Post:
I have read about this shop in forums online how they can be cold, rude, and standoffish but I wanted to see it for myself.
The man at the door greeted me immediately and was very nice. I had an appointment with David to look at Rolexs but he was busy so i worked with Matt. I told Matt I was interested in Rolexs but I was more interested in building a life-long relationship with Windsor. I explained that while I respect that I don't have any purchase history in the store, I would like to register my interest and get to know the business and look at watches. I introduced myself as an up and coming charlotte native with a love for the city that's part of the next generation of collectors finding their way into this brand and I would love to find it with Windsor.
We sat down at a booth and Matt showed me 2 Rolexs, he didn't say anything about the color, the dial, or the bracelet. I looked at it and said "its beautiful". He was on his phone and said nothing. I tried on the 36mm and started discussing how the size while small is very gentlemanly. I then complimented his beautiful Pepsi submariner he was wearing and asked him "how do you feel about the size of your watch?". He looked at me deadpan and very coldly said "i mean, its not what i think, you're the one who's gonna be wearing the watch". Really just wanted to talk to someone who owned such a beautiful watch. He stayed on his phone.
I asked him how long he had been working there. Without looking up he said "2019". He went back to his phone. But this time he was building me a profile to register my interest. I tried to make small talk again while he registered me in silence. "Busy day?" "Ya". Okay, understood. I might be pulling him from a sale. I have an incredible job in finance but I worked retail. I totally get that. But, to be honest, I could have been convinced to buy just about any watch in that store at any price point. I conveyed my interest in the relationship and honestly didn't even know they sold other watches! I would have loved a segue into other timepieces.
After registering my interest, he stared at me, said nothing, and after about 15 straight seconds of silence muttered "so....anything else i can help you with?". The energy was so comically sarcastic it felt straight out of a skit. I said yes, I'd like to see the submariner and the explorer. He brought them and I asked him if he owned any other Rolexs. Again, with no emotion he begrudgingly replied "uh, yeah". He mentioned a DJ, i asked how long he had it and he said 20 years. "I'm sure that watch has a lot of stories to tell" i said with a smile. He said nothing.
I then said I wont take up any more of his time and thanked him for meeting with me. Shook his hand and walked out.
I don't believe in treating retail workers like they owe me anything just because I am in their store. I believe in human decency but also would expect that in return. I would have loved to buy an IWC, a Tudor, or even a tag at that store. But it would definitely have to be with another SA as that was the most brutal interaction I have had with a high end sales rep in quite some time.
