I have tried multiple ways to handle the behavior of the staff at this location, but I have officially reached my breaking point. Every time I visit, my experience depends entirely on who is working, and it has become clear that I am being profiled. I have personally witnessed white women return items without a receipt, and the associates process it seamlessly without saying a word. A male staff member even stood nearby just to watch our interaction—as if anticipating that I would get aggressive or cause a problem. This has happened multiple time. There is always a third party randomly intervening whenever I am speaking to someone at the register or have a complete. The first time this happened, an associate actually reported it to management, and I received a phone call apology and a discount code due to the staff's behavior. But the fact that it is still happening means I have to write this review. This store is incredibly uncomfortable for Black women to shop in. I am a Pinnacle customer and spend a lot of money at Lululemon, so to be treated this way is absolutely ridiculous. The staff desperately needs training on how to interact with customers of color. They are significantly harsher toward Black women, consistently bringing a "crowd" over to watch the interaction even when you are speaking calmly and rationally. I have never seen them do this with any other race. While white women are given a pass on missing receipts without question, I am cross-examined and forced to wait while they go "find someone." It is incredibly uncomfortable, and I strongly recommend that minorities avoid this specific store altogether. I make far more than the cashiers working here; I could easily buy anything in that store ten times over and be completely fine. To be looked down upon and mistreated by people working retail is deeply frustrating. This continuous behavior is completely turning me off from shopping with this brand.

After multiple experiences I’ve had at this location, I’ve decided to finally leave a review. Every time I come here, I seem to get treated with a suspicion due to racial implicit bias or racial profiling and it’s very uncomfortable/annoying. When I returned an item today which was a birthday gift I got 2 days earlier, I was told they needed to take the bag back to throw it away. Which I’ve never heard in my life of any store doing. Then on my way out of the store, I saw a piece I liked but didn’t have time to really shop, so I took a picture, and the manager appears and is like asking me why I took a picture, and was like “oh I know you don’t work at Alo, I was gonna say are u taking pictures to steal our style” or something random along those lines, idk. I get the vibe that she thought I was sketchy because I’m black, and it honestly just seemed like a poor attempt of saving herself the embarrassment of asking me why I took a picture. The thing is, I’ve actually shopped this brand since I was 14/15, and recently have felt way more uncomfortable going there and they need to tighten up on their social skills here and the not interrupting the customer shopping experience.
