This Goodwill has terrible staff. My friend was looking at an item another customer was looking and she asked her if she wanted to take it, the lady said no she can grab it and after my friend took it, the woman went and complained to the manager named “Colleen” the customer lied saying my friend pulled her hair and pushed her in order to take the item from her (obviously a lie) and the manager went with the story accusing my friend of doing it and was screaming at her kicking her out of the store. All the other customers were just staring in shock by the way this “manager” Colleen was screaming at my friend. This is an unacceptable behavior for someone that’s giving a customer service, accusing them of an aggression that never happened. She went out of her way to say she saw in the cameras basically accusing her of assaulting that other costumer. This is not the first time this manager has had an issue with my friend and basically all the latinos that go to that store.

If I could leave a ZERO I would!! After reading these comments with people complaining of the poor attitudes of your employees I’m surprised nothing has been done about this!! I am writing to report a very unpleasant experience I had at the Goodwill on South Tryon Street in Steele Creek, Charlotte. While at the register, I was attempting to complete a purchase using two gift cards. The cashier assisting me was unsure how to process the transaction, so a woman named Kayla, who identified herself as the manager, came over to help. Unfortunately, she was also unable to complete the transaction. I politely asked if someone else could assist or if another employee might know how to process it, and I was told no one else was available. As I continued trying to resolve the issue, Kayla became dismissive and rude. She interrupted me, spoke over me, and used a condescending tone instead of addressing the situation. While I was still completing my purchase and handing over cash for the remaining balance, she instructed the cashier to “help the next customer,” which was both inappropriate and unprofessional. I then asked for the name of the general manager so I could follow up about the situation. I was told to “Google it,” and when I asked again, she refused to provide the name. Her behavior escalated further—she became loud, caused a scene, and ultimately dismissed me from the store. I have never experienced this level of disrespect in a retail environment. This type of behavior—especially from someone identifying themselves as a manager—is completely unacceptable. I will be following up directly, but I wanted to formally document this incident and expect it to be addressed. ⸻

I’d put zero if I could. While on the phone with my mother I overheard an altercation where my mother was trying to use two gift cards and the cashier couldn’t figure out how to do it so Kayla (who claims to be a manager) came over to try and help but also couldn’t figure it out. My mother asked if they could bring someone else to the front to help and they said no one else was there. As my mom was asking for anyone at all who knew how to do it, or if they could figure it out, Kayla got rude stating she is the manager and started saying “ANYWAYS” talking over my mother. As they went back and forth, Kayla says to the cashier “You can help the next customer” while my mother was giving him cash for the remaining balance. My mother then asked for the name of the general manager so she could call and they told her to google it. My mother said I just need his name, (she knows it’s a male). Kayla refused to give her his name and proceeded to get loud causing a scene and dismissing my mother from the store. I don’t care what establishment anyone works at, this type of behavior should never be tolerated from any employees, especially not from someone claiming to be a manager. My mother stated she will be going back up to the store tomorrow to speak to the GM.
