NOVIE BLESS EVER

I had one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever encountered at a Belk store.
I went shopping with my daughter to allow her to pick out a few items for her birthday. She was a little ahead of me shopping in the shoe department. When I caught up with her, I witnessed an employee approach her and, with a very rude and unpleasant attitude, tell her, “The store closes in 5 minutes.” My daughter did not respond and simply continued shopping.
We knew this information was incorrect because there were approximately 18 minutes left before closing. Shortly afterward, an announcement came over the intercom stating that the store would be closing in 15 minutes, confirming that what we had been told was not true.
I then went to the women’s clothing department, and the same employee followed me. She approached me and again stated, with an extremely nasty and disrespectful attitude, that the store was closing in five minutes. She looked me up and down in a manner that made the interaction even more uncomfortable and disrespectful.
At that point, I asked her what her problem was and why she was speaking to customers with such a bad attitude. I also made it clear that I did not appreciate being addressed in that manner.
Her manager eventually came over, and I explained what had happened. I asked for the employee’s name, but she refused to provide it. We later learned that her name was Crystal.
I have the interaction involving both the employee and management on video. The entire experience was completely unacceptable and embarrassing. A customer shopping for her daughter’s birthday should not be followed around a store, spoken to disrespectfully, or made to feel unwelcome—especially when the store was still open.
I have shopped at many Belk locations and have never experienced treatment like this before. Customer service should make shoppers feel welcomed and respected, not rushed out, followed, or spoken down to. Both the employee and the way this situation was handled by management were extremely disappointing.

I used to expect a decent shopping experience at the Belk in Northlake Mall, but after two separate encounters with the same wildly aggressive employee, I will not be returning.
5 months ago, while browsing the men’s section, a female employee of Indian descent literally came out of nowhere and started barking at me, asking if I had a Belk credit card. When I told her I was just trying to shop, she completely ignored what I said and repeatedly demanded to know if I wanted to sign up for one. Her aggressive tactics were so off-putting that I flat-out told her I wouldn't take a card from her even if I wanted one.
Fast forward 5 months later—same store, same employee, same exact experience. This time, she approached my husband and immediately started relentlessly barking at him about opening a credit card. It’s completely absurd.
Management clearly prioritizes pushing high-interest credit cards over basic, decent customer service.
Speaking with another cashier confirmed that this particular employee consistently carries this hostile, antagonistic energy with her on the floor. If you want to shop in peace without being badgered and harassed by pushy sales tactics, avoid this location.
Very special thank you to Deborah for helping me find a special gift for a special person. She was so kind and patient. She asked what kind of style I was looking for and took the time to inform on the usefulness and quality of the bags. I felt confident making my purchase!

It's not longer an outlet. It has been rearranged. It is more difficult to find what you are looking for. It addition their prices are not as good as they used to be. I will not visit this location again.
