  I have shopped at this Belk location many times, but today was likely my last visit. The experience started when I walked directly to the item I wanted, only to be stopped by an associate in the department who appeared unfamiliar with the products she was responsible for. After walking me around the department, she ultimately informed me they didn't carry the exact item I was looking for—even though I was already standing in front of it before she interrupted me. Things only got worse at checkout. I selected three IZOD shirts from racks clearly marked "Buy 1, Get 2 Free." When I got to the register, I was asked to download an app, then escorted back to the sales floor because the cashier didn't believe the promotion I described. After that, I was told one of the shirts didn't qualify because it was a "Doorbuster" item and that I needed to choose a different shirt. At that point, I walked away from the entire purchase. Between the confusing promotions, the constant push to download apps, and associates who were not adding value to the shopping experience, it simply wasn't worth the frustration. Retailers wonder why more customers choose to shop online instead of in stores, and experiences like this are exactly why. I like the IZOD brand, but if Belk is the only place to buy it, I'll find another retailer—or another brand altogether. Unfortunately, today's experience gave me no reason to return.

  The staff are always rude. The store is unorganized. It’s disappointing. This used to be a nice store.

  I wanted to purchase a necklace and the person who was assisting me (Byda may be her name), was very disrespectful. When showing me the stand/tray of several items, she stepped further away from me. When I asked if she could bring it closer, she made an expression and said, "we can only show you 1 item at a time"....I told her that I understood but that I needed her to bring the tray closer to the counter, so that I could decide which necklace that I wanted to see...she barely moved and refused to come to the counter. I told her that I wasn't going to snatch the jewelry, in response to her actions. After telling me the price, I asked her if they work on commission. She responded by saying, No, not in fine jewelry and asked if I needed anything else. I have NEVER experienced this type of disrespectful customer service in Asheboro's Belk until today and I will not shop from them again until I know that they have removed people who are clearly prejudice.

  This is single story Belk in the Asheboro mall. It's easy to access this store, and it it is *loaded* with merchandise in every facet of the store. It's fairly clean, with most of the sections pretty neatly organized. Some aren't as nice, but overall, it could be far worse. The staff here were pretty nice, and others were busy stocking. Overall, I wish this store was a little more spacious in the aisles particularly in the clothing section, but that's my only real drawback.
