The guys in this store were very helpful and welcoming. It was very cool seeing how open they are with having guns. They let me hold and feel multiple guns I cant thank them enough.

Do not buy a firearm here.
My experience with Sportsman’s Warehouse has been unbelievably frustrating. The staff I dealt with demonstrated a poor understanding of their own firearms policies and procedures, and I was repeatedly given information that turned out to be incorrect. Rather than taking the time to verify an answer, I was given answers that seemed designed to get me out of the store.
I understand that Sportsman’s Warehouse does not control how quickly the FBI processes a delayed NICS background check. That part isn't their fault. What is their policy, however, is absolutely their responsibility.
My background check has now been delayed for seven days. In every previous firearm purchase I've made, my background checks have cleared within an hour or two. Under federal law, an FFL is generally permitted to proceed with a firearm transfer after the applicable three-business-day period when NICS has not returned a denial. Sportsman’s chooses not to do that.
Instead, I was told their policy is to hold the firearm for up to 29 days, even after the federal waiting period has passed, and then require another background check if NICS still hasn't returned a response. So I paid for a firearm that is sitting in their possession while they voluntarily choose not to complete the transfer.
If Sportsman’s wants to maintain a stricter internal policy than federal law requires, that's their prerogative. But customers should be told that before purchasing a firearm, especially when the item is advertised as available for in-store pickup.
Between the inaccurate information from staff and a company policy that unnecessarily prolongs the transfer of a firearm I've already paid for, this will be my last firearm purchase from Sportsman’s Warehouse.
There are plenty of other firearms dealers who will get my business from here on out.

Disappointing experience
I really want to like Sportsman’s Warehouse because the concept is great and Bozeman should have an amazing outdoor store, but the actual shopping experience here is consistently frustrating.
The biggest issue for me is the lack of product knowledge. Depending on what department you’re in, finding someone who actually knows the products can be a challenge. I’ve had questions that should have been pretty straightforward and ended up getting very little help. For an outdoor store, I expect the employees to be able to offer some real expertise.
Inventory is another major frustration. It seems like half the time the shelves are either nearly empty or they don’t have the item I’m looking for. The website showing something as being in stock doesn’t always seem to mean much either, which makes it especially frustrating when you make a trip specifically for something.
Then there’s the checkout. Even when the store isn’t particularly busy, getting through the checkout line can take forever. It’s hard to understand how a large sporting-goods store can have such a slow checkout experience.
There are definitely some good employees here, and the store has a huge selection when everything is actually stocked, but the inconsistency is the problem. Between limited inventory, lack of product knowledge, slow checkout, and generally feeling like you have to work pretty hard to get help, I find myself just waiting to make purchases until I can shop at Scheels in Billings often times.
For a store with this much potential in an outdoors-heavy town like Bozeman, I think the experience should be considerably better.

Horrible customer service. Came in to get my rod re-spooled because last time they didn’t put any tension and recommended a super heavy line. Asked an older gentleman to spool a new line, and he got very mouthy with me and asked me to wait, because supposedly he’s the only one that can do. Waited 5 minutes and decided they weren’t worth my time or money. Bob Wards heard what happened and spooled a new, correct line for free. Won’t ever be coming back here…
