I had received a postcard that there was an event planned at a jewelry store I have frequented so I made the assumption that the jeweler was who was purchasing the precious metals and gems. It was this different company. The postcard said they’d take coins, stamps, gems, stones as well as gold and silver. They were well into the appraisal process before I realized that they were paying well below going rate for the metals. And they said they’d weren’t paying for the stones or gems at all, just the silver and gold. I went through with the process, and accepted the price for most items but definitely had regret that I should have taken the gold and silver to make a jeweler at a later date.

Wow! I had never done this before: taken jewelry to have it evaluated and sold if it was of value. I expressed my hesitation when I walked in and registered and lively Maura put me right at ease. I brought a box of plastic baggies with various types of jewelry in it. I was rather surprised when Alden used a lupe to look at every single piece I brought in. He told me what each piece was (gold, plated, silver, costume) and set aside the items of value. Much of it was costume quality so I was not expecting much. I was very surprised and delighted to find that I did have some gold and silver in there and Alden offered me a very nice price for all of it. I am already looking through more things I may want to sell when National Rarities comes back to my town in 6 months. They really made it easy and I felt like they were trustworthy. National Rarities came to a local jewelry store and I felt very safe there.

I attended National Rarities buying event held at Reed’s Jewelers at the Greenbrier Mall in Chesapeake, VA. This was the best experience. I had a lot of jewelry and coins that my Mom owned and did not know if they had any value. Madison with National Rarities is a rock star! She was very informative and offered detailed explanations throughout the process. She has excellent people skills. I look forward to using this service in the future and enthusiastically refer this company

National Rarities was such a pleasant experience for my first time at this type of selling adventure. Lots of mixed emotions come about when letting go of items with precious memories. I had the privilege of working with Hollie. She was amazing & so knowledgeable about all the items she checked for me. She took time with each item & we had some laughs about a few of them. I so appreciate her making it easier to let some items go & felt like the exchange was extremely fair. Thanks Hollie & National Rarities for being so professional & friendly during my visit.

For selling estate jewelry, this was a great solution and I'm so happy I found this group of experts! I had been dreading the idea of going to pawn shop or jewelry appraiser to have my mother's jewelry looked at after her passing, because I had no idea what was real and what was fake. I expected to be charged by the piece and I knew it would be expensive because it was impossible for me to narrow things down to choose which pieces to try to sell, since I had no idea what value any of it had. Much of it was costume jewelry. Anyway I attended the National Rarities 3-day jewelry buying event at Kessler's diamonds in Madison. I checked in, and there was just a short wait before I was seen - - just under an hour. Since there was no charge to be seen and I wasn't obligated to sell or purchase anything, I happily waited. Michael and I went through the entire collection of rings, necklaces and bracelets and narrowed things down into categories before they got weighed. He also did detailed testing on a few of the pieces to determine if they were real or costume jewelry. I was able to sit and watch all of the analysis and get my questions answered. Ended up leaving with a check in hand and was very happy with their service. It was so good to take the mystery out of all of it.
