  DO NOT SELL YOUR BOOKS HERE! I decided it was time to downsize my Artist Book collection so I put together 2 boxes of books to sell. Prior to bringing them in I decided to look them each book up individually online and find the cheapest available copies (regardless of condition). After looking them all up, the total was just a hair over $600. I didn't want to deal with listing them all individually and was more than happy to take a hefty cut for the convenience of just being able to drop them off and walk away. I thought, i would love 25% of the value but would reluctantly accept 20%, so $120. I dropped off the books, waited around for an hour and fifteen minutes. When my offer was ready I walked up to the counter and they said "We can do $28". I politely asked for them to be put back into the 2 boxes and left. Not only will I not attempt to sell to them again, I will not buy anything from them again. It is shameful that they are offering people less then 5% of their items value and then turning around and selling them for full price. I have been going to this store for over 20 years, I will no longer support their buisness.

  Ok, no comment being made here on the quality of the books for sale. I’ve found many excellent books in good condition here. The book buying side of the HPB operation borders on criminally exploitative. Specifically, their not giving back the boos they don’t want but instead sending them os some pulp-making operation (via a book graveyard dumpster behind the store). They have you wait an hour or more — in store, no “we’ll text you when we’re through”). And after all that waiting you discover that they are giving you about 10c per book. I will never go back. They have made me hate them and I don’t hate anyone.

  We make sure to stop in for Books, games and comics. Each time staff has been helpful, bathrooms are clean as well as the rest of the store. Recommend visiting.
