  Very disappointing experience with what should have been a simple, routine service. I made an appointment to have my outboard motor serviced, including an oil change and winterization. When I dropped it off, I was told it would only take a few hours. The manager called to confirm I was okay with the pricing and assured me it would be finished by the end of the day and that he would call when it was ready. That call never came. I waited until the middle of the following day before calling to check on it, only to find out they hadn't even started the service and still had paperwork to complete. What made the experience even more frustrating was their response when I expressed my disappointment. Rather than acknowledging the poor communication or missed commitment, they didn't seem interested in hearing my concerns. This was a basic oil change and winterization, not a major repair. I made an appointment for a reason and planned around the timeline they gave me. Delays happen, but failing to communicate and then dismissing a customer's concerns is unacceptable. If you can't meet the timeline you promised, at least have the courtesy to call and let your customer know.

  We did get great help with buying our fishing licenses for our trip to international falls. When we went back to the fishing section we were used to our Bass Pro in the Cincinnati area because it is huge and well lit and this one was small and very dark. Another customer was using a flash light to see. We couldn't see anything and couldn't find what we needed even with help from an employee. We did come back later and after looking for the item for probably 20 minutes we found them. Another customer was receiving help and was using a flashlight that day too. Very small and compact. Not at all what we were expecting considering where this Bass Pro is located. A hunting and fishing paradise for everyone in Northern Minnesota!

  Nice store. It's a big chain, so service isn't anything to write home about. Service is mixed depending on who you get. Ammo was more expensive here than across the bridge, plus the sales tax is more, so I'll keep buying ammo in Superior WI. I did find a hard to find magazine, so got it instead of ordering online.
