We were in Scheels today and were impressed with the staff and the selection! I was especially impressed by the selection of pants for women in tall/long. A special thank you to Alaina D. who knew the inventory very well! She was very helpful and friendly and never seemed bothered when we needed yet another size or color! It was a great experience and we left with more than we planned on thanks to her suggestions! We will definitely be back to see her again. 😁

They have everything you need but the customer service is awful! Ignored multiple times by workers in the area downstairs only for them to approach others that were not in line. Really disappointing as this place used to be the best. Had two employees blow right by me and my son looking for things acting like they couldn’t be bothered to help.

The store is racist. My family and I had staff trail behind us as we browsed. When I requested a fitting room, staff spoke to me rudely and repeated questions to me slowly as if I did not speak English. Others avoided making eye contact with me as much as possible in order to avoid asking if I needed help. It was in stark contrast to the tone used with white guests and made me feel incredibly unwelcome. The men's shoes section was not better-- my dad was sized up by the man helping him at one point. I left without buying anything, and am deeply uncomfortable by this entire experience. The prices are reasonable for the quality of the clothing, but please be careful if you are a person of color.

Went to buy a new swimsuit solo which I was bummed about. I always bring a true blue friend that will tell me the good, the bad, and the ugly. Cold hard truth is needed when shopping for this item. I went to the dressing room and there was Molly. It wasn't my typical fitting room experience. She extended the standard offer to look, grab new sizes, etc. but when I came out the first time I could instantly tell she was genuinely wanting me to leave with the perfect one. Time after time she was honest, gave truthful feedback and I left with a great find and wanting to shop there more often because you actually get a personal shopping assistant. Hats off to you Scheels! You have a rare service that consumers will come back for. And thank you again Molly! Can't wait for boating this weekend.

My husband and I recently purchased two Retrospec iSUPs and the Mission Portable Electric Pump (which is worth every penny.) But before I get too far I must recognize a Sheel's employee: Robert. Robert was the bomb-diggity of customer service. We had done our research ahead of time so we knew that the Retrospec iSUP was the one we wanted. Robert knew allll the details about them - helped us with sizing and explained all of the features. We had read on Wirecutter that the fins were difficult to put on and take off. Robert went to the basement, found some fins, and demonstrated - easy peasy. Next came the conversation about portable motors for inflation AND deflation. There were about 4 brands on the shelf - and Robert explained the pros and cons of each of them. They are kind of spendy - but having pumped one of our iSUPs up manually and with the motor - I mean, the pumping isn't THAT bad, but it's a bit of a workout right before you are going to have a paddling workout. But then Robert said really the best one to get is the Mission brand. They had just gotten them in and guess where they were? The loading doc in the basement! But Robert happily offered to sprint downstairs to get one for us. He was gone quite some time and returned empty handed: despite climbing over obstacles at the loading doc he was unable to find one. BUT he offered to ship one to us, free shipping. It arrived in just a few days. The Retrospec iSUPs are a dream. The first day while inflating they seemed quite full at 9 PSI. We were, frankly, afraid to go all the way to the recommended 12-15. The second day we got brave and went to 12 (and the Mission motor shuts off automatically at whatever PSI you set it at) and wow - they are much more stable at 12! We loved cruising - the paddles are easy to adjust on the fly if you are on your knees or standing. They easy to steer. The cup holders that go under the elastic ropes? Pass on those. If you have a tall water bottle they just tip over. And, if you fall in like I did, whatever is IN the cup holder falls out. Maybe there is an adjusment to be done: I don't know. Anyway, two thumbs up for the Retrospec inflatable SUP. Two thumbs up for the Mission Portable Electric Pump. And FOUR THUMBS UP FOR ROBERT!!!
