This negative review is only for the Chanel bag store inside Nordstrom, not Chanel Beauty/Cosmetics.
My wife and I went there today because she needed help with an online eyeglasses return. The pair doesn’t suit her, and she planned to get a smaller size or a refund so we could shop for another pair.
After she went inside and spoke to one of the Chanel sales reps, I later found out his name was Evan. It was our first time meeting him, even though we had been shopping at Chanel at this location for many years, so we assumed he was new. I was waiting outside at the time while he helped my wife change or get information on how to return or get a refund for an unfit pair of sunglasses. After that quick chat, Evan walked past me and took my wife to the nearby store to see the sunglasses she needed, which were displayed among many brand-name eyeglasses near the Chanel boutique.
By the time my eye was caught by the Chanel belt on the front display, I thought it was cute and walked into the store to see more items in the display case, all the way in the back. After a quick look, since I had very bad eyesight and forgot to wear glasses, I pulled out the phone, not even a 30sec. to take a quick pic of the items to show to my wife, in case she likes the bag.
I heard a scream from my back, saying.
“You can’t take a photo inside”
I froze for a sec, deleted the picture I'd just taken, and said, "Just wanted to take a quick look at the items behind the counter and show her."
: You reply: No! No! No! No! You can’t do that. It’s Store Policies. With that big attitude and tone of your voice, it immediately turned me away from buying anything from you,
So I asked Evan if anyone was in the store today. He replied: No, he was the only person today, not even with our regular sales reps, we shop with a lot. (because I could easily drop 5-6 racks today, since I really like the belt and the leather goods in the glass display), But I just don’t want you to be my sales reps. By the way you talk and approach me. We own a multi-service business, and I have trained many people to handle the customers.
THIS IS NOT HOW YOU are treating the customer, there’s a better way to say or even approach me in this situation:
If I were you, Evan, I was gonna say: "Excuse me, sir, how may I help you?"
After whatever you reply to me, I would say, "Sorry for interrupting earlier, but we do have a policy against taking pictures inside the store."
See how this sounds a lot better and polite?!
Firstly, Evan, I am not your friend.
Secondly, it seems like you see me dress so pretty casually, I can see why you look down on us by saying such things like that.
So we walked out and went to Chanel Cosmetics near the norstorm. My wife got amazing help from Emily, who was nice and helped her get a refund for her eyeglasses, after I waited for a while it seem like there was problem with her card to get a money back, so I turned around and grab a couples of Chanel items like a serum and body oil also I asked my wife if she need a lipstick or anything else becasue I feel BAD if we wasted everyone time inside the store who helpd us and walk out an empty handed,
At the end, we bought a product and walked with a smile because of Sales Emily.
To the person who manages the Bag Store place, please train your staff.
