  Came in today (5/16/26) with several pieces of family gold. Was offered a FLAT $542. . Took the same pieces to Abbott’s in Birmingham the day before — their offer was $1,195.59, an honest estimate down to the PENNY. — I am a mindfully educated consumer who understands spot pricing and the fluctuation of gold this week — with values literally changing overnight due to the state of the world. No daily swing accounts for a $653 difference on identical pieces, same week. — The difference comes down to expertise: Abbott’s (est. 1956) / put in the work on a chain with an ambiguous 18K clasp stamp, determined it was 14K, and priced it accordingly. . Tapper’s (est. 1977) / tested the same chain, got uncertain, and passed on it entirely. This wasn’t about timing. It was about who knew what they were doing. Get multiple estimates before you sell anything here.

  Wonderful! Needed a ring appraisal. Scott was able to squeeze me in the same day for an appraisal appointment. From the minute, I walked in the door I was greeted with a smile. I felt valued and welcomed. Even offered something to drink. Timely appointment. It was great dealing with Scott, who was knowledgeable, timely and genuine. He even inspected my ring and gave me feedback. Definitely, this is the place to go!!! You will not be disappointed.
