- DHDE Helton6 days ago5.0It seems that nowadays experiencing great customer service can be considered an anomaly or a rare occurrence. However, just the other day, I received exactly that at the Sportsman Warehouse in Troy. I recently got back into shooting as a sport and have been slowly increasing my collection of firearms. I have bought from Williams, Dunhams, Bass Pro, and the Sportsman Warehouse. My multiple bad experinces at Bass Pro has literally caused me to never shop there again. Dunhams has been solid, with Williams being a hit and miss as far as positive experiences. But the Sportsman Warehouse has been spot on. I went in the other day to find a 1911/2011 style pistol. I did all my research prior, but still had a lot of questions. A gentleman by the name of Gary was SO helpful. He answered every question, shared his experience, and would always frame a response as "opinion" when needed. After speaking with him, I had all I needed to make a selection. These other lackluster firearm merchants would benefit greatly by having a Gary on their team. Sportmans Warehouse is now my go to place when it comes to firearms. Keep up the good work Gary!

Eventually, someone came over, and I asked about pump-action shotguns with a threaded barrel. The employee seemed confused and didn’t understand what I was asking. When I explained it was for mounting a suppressor, he said he had never heard of that and asked, “Why would you want to put a suppressor on a shotgun?” Here is why (I hope he can see this review) * Hearing protection — reduces noise and blast * Reduced recoil — softer shooting feel * Home defense / tactical — less disorienting indoors I expected better product knowledge and more professional customer service. I went to another gun store asked same question and they understand me and got me the right gun.
