Employees at this store are racist (minus the short haired girl). Walked in and the worker looked up at us, saw us, and then looked away. It looked like she was going to say welcome in until she saw us. As we shopped, her and another employee never acknowledged us. As I walked around holding items and went to the fitting room, was never acknowledged. Thought it was just how they were until other customers who were white were immediately greeted and assisted throughout the entire store. Unfortunate to have this experience.

Had a phenomenal experience earlier this week with the assistant manager Emily at the Somerset Madewell location. Emily was friendly, professional, courteous, and went above and beyond while processing my return. She even checked inventory on a hard to get item (the Sophie top) that I was looking for and called multiple stores in order to secure the size and color for me. Emily updated the database to the other store could process my charge send easily and made the entire process utterly seamless. I’ll be honest, I usually shop online, but I can tell you that without question, I will be returning to shop with Emily. Seeing how awesome she was when handling a return, I just know I’ll have a blast shopping at this location. One more thing - I called the store to thank Emily for her outstanding service shortly after I left. Her response “well working for a company that encourages and empowers us to do what’s right…” - excuse me?! Give this girl a promotion! She is such an outstanding ambassador for your brand!

Favorite store, high quality clothes and high quality staff. Have always had a comfortable experience here unlike some other stores. Best store for women in their 20s!

One of the best experiences I have ever had shopping for jeans, I came in the store late on Friday looking for some boots and jeans. I cannot stand trying on jeans or even shopping for them in general, I have heard amazing things about Madewell's jeans so I thought I would give them a shot. A super friendly store associate named Lissa was able to help me find a pair. I explained to her that I didn't really want to try anything on and I was willing to take the risk of purchasing a pair without trying them on first. She suggested a size that was a little smaller than I usually go, but I trusted her and bought the smaller size (and I'm glad i did). The jeans she recommended fit me like a glove! To say I love them is an understatement. In addition, the store was in really great shape for it being late on Black Friday. I will definitely be back!
