Boy oh boy… do I have a review.
Want to know how I know there are still genuinely good people walking this earth? Buckle up.
Backstory: About three weeks ago, I custom-ordered a pair of Meta Ray-Bans with transition lenses. Nearly $500. I loved them… right up until I learned that transition lenses do not transition through a windshield. You know—where I do a solid chunk of my living. Slight oversight, but fine.
I figured I’d just swap the lenses myself. Easy, right? Wrong. Turns out, “you can swap them” does not apply to me. After an Olympic-level struggle, I finally get the original lenses out. I go to put the new ones in… and in less time than it takes to blink—
SNAP.
The frames broke. $500 metas. Gone. Reduced to vibes and regret. They broke so easily I almost felt personally attacked. So there I am, staring at my broken, expensive glasses, trying my absolute hardest not to emotionally crash out.
I call the Sunglasses Hut where I picked them up (they didn’t make them—just received them from Ray-Ban), and I’m told to contact Ray-Ban directly. So off I go… straight into chat-bot purgatory. While I’m arguing with a robot who clearly doesn’t understand my pain, I get a call from an unfamiliar number. I ignore it. Moments later, I see the voicemail summary:
“Hi, this is Kim from Sunglasses Hut—I think I can help you.”
Reader… she absolutely did.
Kim called me back on her own, with a solution ready to go. Within thirty minutes, I had new frames arranged and the situation fully resolved. Smooth. Effortless. Magical. The fastest, most painless customer service experience I have ever had—anywhere.
She saved me from the endless Ray-Ban chatbot maze. She saved me from wallowing in sadness over my broken Metas. Honestly? She may have saved my entire year.
Her kindness, thoughtfulness, and initiative turned what was an awful, stressful situation into something I can now laugh about. That level of care is exceptional and unbelievably rare.
Kim deserves the world. She is a superior employee. Employee of every month…. Perhaps. Honestly, if there were more Kim’s in the world, customer service would be unstoppable.
10/10.
