Tons of books, not sure how they were organized (may have been my lack of coffee)... Not very accessible if you use assistive devices (wheelchair, crutches, etc.)

This is a truly great bookstore. There is a never-ending supply of incredible used books. If you're a serious bibliofile or just a person who likes to read and values the economy of a high-quality used book, this is the place for you. If you make the trip to Merrill's bookshop, which I guarantee you won't regret, make sure to bring cash or your checkbook, this great shop doesn't take credit cards.

The breadth and depth of the books and their imbued knowledge in this place is boundless. Incredible place, well worth a visit but be prepared to forget where you are and be lost for hours.

This is one of the few surviving temples of bibliophilia. John Merrill has books that I have only heard rumors of, and a few that I cannot believe actually exist. He is knowledgable and gregarious, equally quick with a reading recommendation or a joke. There are thousands of books under $10, so no one should feel intimidated to browse. But Merrill's is not just a friendly neighborhood bookshop. The selection of rare books is extraordinary. And the prices are fair: no gimmicky discounts or dishonest mark-ups. Yes, there are books here that I will probably never be able to afford, but not a single one is overpriced. No matter where you live, Merrill's is worth the trip.

Haven't seen a use book store with this many books for a long time. If you know what you're looking for, the owner will definitely help you find it.
