Maybe once all the construction is done, this will be lovely. But not so much right now! While LLBEAN is known for quality, the prices were ridiculous. With so many other options like Cabellas, Columbia, etc., the pricing was off putting. While it will likely be a beautiful two year long renovation offering a unique shopping experience, similar products can be found at more reasonable prices. Even the outlet prices are a joke. Once complete, I'm sure it will be lovely to stroll through and browse....but unlikely to put hase at inflated prices

A little treat to visit the L.L. Bean flagship while in Freeport.
They're in the middle of a major upgrade so, lots of fenced off and tented areas but, good signage and easy enough to walk.
I was bummed we couldn't get the mandatory L.L. Bean Duck Boot shot in front of the main building but, they had a temporary boot mobile parked in front of their mainstay tent we got as a consolation prize.
Friendly staff and loads of nice items, far more than in any store you're ever going to go to.
Here they have a stand-alone Home store, Outdoor, Clothing, etc. so you can easily spend a few hours here if you go to each store and look through all of them.
Everyone is so friendly and helpful here! Exceptional service for my dad finding the perfect pair of shoes to go with his outfit for my sister's big day and also have them be comfortable for wearing them out and about. They even made sure I didnt forget the protective bag for the sunglasses.

It’s sad to see how the LL Bean of yesteryears has been overcome by trendy fashion vs the great durable outdoor clothing of the past. I’ve been purchasing LL Bean goods as far back as the 70’s but now I’m just going to say that I truly felt like an “Outsider” we walked out without even purchasing anything. Come on Gorman… get back to your Great Grandfather’s roots!!!!!

Even for being under the amount of construction that it is as of right now (summer 2026), it's a super comfortable shopping experience. You kinda forget you're just in a big tent! I only knocked off a point because I was looking at rain jackets and tried one on then put it back and a sales person came up and was kinda pushy about "well we can order you one if we don't have your size, here try on this one in a different color". I get that those tactics work on some people but it just made me a little uncomfortable. Also a little confusing that a women's basic raincoat is $180 and a men's is $100?
