  If I could give a zero star rating, I would. I purchased a 300 dollar necklace from this establishment last year only to have one of the diamonds fall out. I was reassured many times when buying this necklace that it would be covered if anything happened to it. So I purchased the extra protection plan. The lady at the register today informed me that unless I had the origional receipt there was nothing she could do as "the system" doesn't go back one year. I am beyond frustrated as this was a meaningful piece and I got zero help.

  I’ve been a long time customer of JCPenney’s and have always felt I’ve been treated well. Today, the customer service, was less than stellar. Both cashiers were rude; one went to get a copy of the return policy & slammed it down on the counter with her hand as she pushed it over towards me. Did you know, returns are within 60 days of order date, not date received (1 week later)? Better make sure you’re able to return items promptly (make sure life “doesn’t happen) or you’ll be out both the money for the items & be treated disrespectfully…

  Heather was SO rude and unprofessional. I came in for a a hair cut and she was very un-helpful and passive aggressive with everything she said! She kept walking off during my service and I overheard her talking bad about other customers with someone named Kate.

  I haven’t shopped at this location in years, and I was incredibly disappointed. They weren’t willing to accept a return because I was two days over the return window. I was told the manager could make an exception for me as I live an hour away from the store, we just had a big snowstorm, and I have a physical disability. The manager wouldn’t even make eye contact with me and only spoke to the other associate, and refused to help me. She said she couldn’t override it, even though I had JUST been told by her staff that she could at her discretion. She advised me to go back to the South Portland store where I bought the items, claiming she couldn’t help me. I found the conflicting information along with her lack of professionalism very disappointing. I understand if her hands were absolutely tied, but it was clear from what I had previously been told, that that wasn’t the case. Her bad attitude and disrespect made it that much worse.
