- VSV S3 days ago1.0Loved the selection. That’s the only compliment I’ll give after my visit yesterday. Here’s the thing- I was trying to decide between two checkerboard slide ons. I told my friend I wasn’t sure if getting the black and white beaded ones would be redundant because I already have b&w vans checkerboard slide ons (which I was wearing yesterday). The girl working there named Emily gave her feedback which went something like this, “no, THOSE are completely different shoes,” (pointing to my vans…) “those aren’t authentic vans, those are like the ones you get from OTHER retailers like DSW or famous footwear, not here.” I was shocked. So forgive me, Emily, for purchasing vans from DSW. Maybe it’s because their customer service isn’t condescending and judgy. I walked right out of this vans store empty handed when I was planning on purchasing at least one pair of shoes, socks, and a handbag. But nope. Patronizing comments like that will lose you sales time and time again. If management at this store sees this, I hope you use it as a teachable moment for Emily to maybe be a bit more friendly and not judge customers (who are loyal vans customers, by the way). I’ll order my stuff online.

I went here yesterday and my sister ended up purchasing overalls, and then I came back today trying to backtrack a lost wallet. Both times, we walked in to a very cheerful welcome and such intentional and caring service - from multiple different staff members! They mourned my lost wallet with me and they celebrated it's finding with me as well!! I'm a converse girl but Vans has truly been selling itself to me lately 😉 keep up the good work you guys, may God bless you in all of your endeavors.
