RACISM AT ITS PEAK I visited this store intending to purchase a couple of sunglasses, but what I experienced instead was blatant racism and one of the most uncomfortable retail experiences I have had. From the moment we walked in, the saleswoman’s attitude toward us was clearly different compared to how she treated other customers. Other shoppers were welcomed warmly with smiles, attention, and assistance, while we were ignored and treated as though we did not belong there. The difference in behavior was impossible to miss. When we asked questions or requested clarification about products, the responses were rude, dismissive, and delivered with visible irritation. The facial expressions, tone, and body language throughout the interaction strongly reflected racial bias. This was not just poor customer service — this genuinely felt like discriminatory treatment based on race. No customer should walk into a store ready to spend money and leave feeling disrespected, unwelcome, and judged because of how they look or where they come from. Racism does not always have to come through words alone; it is often visible in behavior, attitude, and the way people are selectively treated. That is exactly what happened here. I chose not to argue or create a scene and instead walked out of the store. We then went to the Sunglass Hut outlet inside Macy's, where the experience was completely different. The staff there treated us with professionalism and respect, patiently answered our questions, and helped us complete our purchase without any issue. That immediately confirmed that the problem was not us — it was the unacceptable behavior at this store. Management needs to take this seriously. Racism in customer service should never be normalized, ignored, or brushed aside as “attitude.” Employees representing a brand should know how to treat every customer equally and respectfully, regardless of race or background. If the management genuinely wants to address this issue and improve the culture at the store, they are free to reach out to me for further clarification. Otherwise, customers deserve to know exactly what kind of treatment they may face here.

My fiancé purchased a pair of sunglasses for me as a gift. After wearing them for approximately ten minutes, the screw fell out and the arm detached completely. We returned to the store within days, where we were unexpectedly charged to replace what was clearly a defective component. Since then, the experience has only worsened. We were told the replacement part would be ordered and that we would receive a call when it arrived. No call ever came. Multiple follow-ups resulted in being passed between associates, unanswered messages, and ultimately being told the order could not be located. At one point, a random, unlabeled screw was presented as the replacement, which did not fit. It has now been over a month without resolution for what should have been a straightforward fix. This reflects a serious lack of accountability and customer care. At this point, I would appreciate a full repair at no cost or a replacement pair. If this cannot be resolved promptly, I will be moving forward with a formal complaint.

I highly recommend Sunglass Hut for all of your sunglass needs. I received excellent service from Donnea and Nicole at the two store locations at the South Shore Plaza. They were attentive and extremely helpful. I was very appreciative of their help!

The Sunglass Hut downstairs near footlocker provided an fantastic experience. The two ladies assisted me smoothly with ordering glasses and shipped to my home. I was provided all details and information about my order. I was originally upstairs when the young lady did not seem helpful so I left. The young lady was texting on her phone while I was asking a question and did not seem to care for customers. I went to the downstairs Sunglass hut which was a better customer experience, thank you to the ladies downstairs!
