- KSKenosha SampsonJun 18, 20261.0I am very concerned about the working and shopping conditions at Citi Trends located at 6613 Airline Dr., Metairie, LA 70003. During my visit, the outside temperature was around 91°F, and the inside of the store was extremely hot. Employees were using multiple plug-in fans with the doors closed in an attempt to keep the store cool. There appeared to be only a small portable air-conditioning unit trying to cool a large retail space. The conditions were uncomfortable for customers and concerning for the employees who must work entire shifts in that environment. I asked an employee about the situation and was told it was a building issue. Whether the responsibility falls on the building owner or the company, employees and customers should not be subjected to excessive heat, especially during a Louisiana summer. This is a health and safety concern. Heat-related illness is a real risk in these conditions. I am concerned that an employee or customer could become sick if this issue is not addressed. The staff members were polite and doing their best, but they deserve a safe and properly air-conditioned workplace. I hope Citi Trends corporate and property management take immediate action to correct this problem.
