- AAAnt01Jul 13, 20262.0My wife and I visited the store around 5:30 yesterday. We noticed a clerk who made eye contact for a good moment and she didn't say anything. Not even a friendly smile. I felt uncomfortable so I nod my head first. Then she barely whispered something. The vibe seemed unfriendly. We decided not to buy anything and upon exiting the store, her and two other clerks were standing around the register. None of them said anything when exiting the store before 6:00pm. I figured, maybe they weren't happy that we visited the store 30 minutes before closing but other people were still shopping and I had just heard a friendly "thanks goodbye" from one of them. I didn't expect this from JCPENNEY. I remember the staff speaking, saying goodbye whether you purchase or not etc.. Oh well. This is probably how they do it at JCPenney now. It Felt like a Walmart visit. There's always a friendly staff at Kohl's. I think the friendly vibes I remembered came from Kohl's.
