Still operating on “Covid hours” in 2026 makes no sense. Closing at 6 PM on a Sunday in the summer while it’s still bright outside and the store is full of shoppers is frustrating for both customers and employees. Staff literally had to go around telling multiple people to leave while they were still actively shopping, and one woman even came to the door begging to be let in because she had already found a pair of shoes she wanted to buy.
Weekends are when people shop. Being open until at least 7 or 8 PM on Sundays would make much more sense and would probably increase sales too. The employees were polite — this is clearly a corporate hours issue, not a staff issue.
That said, this location’s selection is dramatically better than the 95th Street store. Honestly, I wouldn’t even bother going to the other location anymore. The difference in inventory and selection is huge.

I walk with 2 canes and my wife walks with a walker. No Staff asked if we needed help. My wife was carring 2 boxed of men's shoes to put up by cash registry to pay for them. No one asked if we needed help or not. She finally seen a girl walking buy on the next row over she asked her if she could help she was kind and helped. When she got to pay for shoe's the lady there was rude and smart mouthed. I may think again before going back in. I hope all your stores are not like this.

The manager that was on duty (a female) had three opportunities to make my experience great and did not.
I was looking for shoes for an event. She was in the same aisle straightening shoes. She never said hello or asked if there was anything she could help me with.
Her second interaction with me was merely to tell me that they closed in 15 minutes.
She still has an opportunity to say hello and ask if I needed anything and she did not.
My response to her was that I was aware of what time they closed.
Her final attempt to interact with me would have been to thank me for shopping with DSW at the cash wrap and she did not.
I walked pass her while she was at the desk right next to the door completing an online order. She never said anything. I know she’s the manager on duty because a guy asked her to clock him out.
I used to work for DSW years ago. I remember a time when we checked on ALL of our customers. It was a priority for us to provide top tier customer service. And we did.
Now, they barely speak to you unless you go to them. But, it’s funny how when it’s time to close they’re walking around telling the customers they close in 15 minutes.
DSW isn’t even open until 9:00pm anymore during the week. I get off at 7:00pm and they close at 8:00pm. It’s not what it used to be AT ALL…
I don’t need an apology. Tell your staff to take care of ALL your customers. The guy that checked me out was great!

Great shoe store with a nice selection. Many of the shoes are being switched to laceless shoes FYI. (Not a significant problem as you can buy paracord for a couple of bucks, but still).
