  Typical big box store. Pretty good selection, but they never have exactly what I'm looking for. I end up still having to order online.

  Wanted to return a small item $25 when I was told after 60 days I couldn't. Went to the counter to request a manager I was told you have already spoken to him . I replied I will not Shop here again and will share my experience the two young ladies laughed. Poor training of personnel and high prices have made it an easy decision to avoid Cabelas and Bass pro stores.

  The kids always like the taxidermy. The bison burgers are always worth it. I had to use the gun library. The men there are very respectful. My husband mainly goes here though for orange season.The store is always nice and clean.

  A Mostly Great Experience at Cabela's Hammond: I recently visited the Cabela's in Hammond, Indiana, with the primary goal of finding a specific fishing rod I've had my eye on. The store itself is impressive, as Cabela's locations usually are, with a vast selection of outdoor gear and a really immersive atmosphere. The fishing department was well-organized, and the staff I interacted with were generally knowledgeable and friendly, offering helpful advice on various fishing equipment. The Rod Dilemma: My main reason for docking a star is that the particular fishing rod I was looking for was out of stock. This was a bit disappointing, as I had made the trip specifically for that item. While I understand that inventory can fluctuate, it's always a bummer when you can't find exactly what you came for, especially when you're excited about a new piece of tackle. Overall Impression and Recommendation: Despite not getting the rod I wanted, I still had a positive experience. The selection of fishing rods and reels is extensive, and they carry many top brands. I did end up finding some other useful fishing accessories and enjoyed browsing the wide array of outdoor gear. I'd recommend Cabela's Hammond for its great selection and helpful staff, but if you have a very specific item in mind, it might be worth calling ahead to check stock availability. I'll definitely be back, hoping my desired rod is in when I return!

  I can follow your process, you guys couldn’t today. If you’re going to have a waiting line process at the gun counter don’t bypass people in line for others that randomly walk up. Wasted 40 minutes of my time here today to not move ahead one place because you’re ignoring your own system. I feel worse for the people before me. How long did they wait. I’ll head out to the local shop next time. They’re in Griffith, IN pelchers. Check them out good group of guys and the owner is generally on site.
