  Front door staff was courteous but other staff not good. Employee in booth at boat department was on cell phone and offered to help locating a boat item that was not found but showing in stock. Employee left and after a long wait by location he left me at I saw him back at booth on cell phone. Very unprofessional and he could have checked back with me if item was not available. I came back to return two items I did not need only to wait at service desk for employee also on cell phone. Seems like it's popular to be at work and on phones at store. It was odd that while in store an employee at booth approached me to offer Hilton rooms in an outdoor store.

  This store deserves zero stars. I purchased their outdoorsmen inverter generator from the Hammond location 5 days ago in the middle of the power outage disaster NWI is currently experiencing. The generator has stopped working 5 DAYS LATER. I attempted to call the store to see if it can be exchanged or returned and it cannot after it has left the box. I even asked to speak to the store manager as well and was told with zero compassion this is their policy. While I understand that this could be a normal policy in some cases the fact that people have been desperately buying generators due to being without powerless for days and now over a week this store should be doing the right thing and helping their community by allowing exchanges of THEIR DEFECTIVE STORE BRANDED MODEL. It is a shame and disservice that NWI is stuck with a store that gives zero care to the citizens that shop their stores and keep them in business during a state and federally declared disaster. I will not spend another penny at this store ever over their disgusting and predatory business practices. Side note: there are multiple videos and an entire Reddit thread dedicated to this faulty product and despite people complaining about this unit repeatedly Cabelas continues to sell a product they know is defective and fail to do right by their consumers. I will be filing all applicable complaints and make sure anyone who will listen knows that they should not shop at this store that takes advantages of customers to the tune of well over $600 with no accountability. I would also like to add I brought this unit to be looked at by a professional mechanic with extensive knowledge of generators and as soon as he saw it he said he knew it was a piece of junk and refused to work on it.

  It made me uncomfortable when I got asked who I was with and where my parents were in what felt like a condescending tone. I’m a grown adult, if i walk back and forth in the store it’s because i’m looking around and I walk a bit fast lol.😐 I felt like I was treated like a lost kid before they saw my parents/cousins and then they tried to sell that vacation package to them. We wanted nothing to do with it and made it clear, though I understand it’s literally their job. No one likes being treated like that. So don’t get upset when we don’t take your sales pitch seriously. :)

  I see the owner replying on here. Can you please tell me why you got rid of the food court? I refuse to give you business along with my sport club because of it lol. Sad stuff to take away from us and put a cross bow bags section in there.
