  We came in today about an hour before closing after our bow broke, hoping to purchase a new one and get everything set up. Mike in the Archery Department went above and beyond to help us, and we truly cannot say enough good things about him. His knowledge was incredibly impressive, and he took the time to explain everything, answer our questions, and make sure the bow was set up properly for us. Even though we came in so close to closing, we never once felt rushed or like we were an inconvenience. He was patient, thorough, incredibly knowledgeable, and genuinely seemed to care about making sure we left with exactly what we needed. Employees like Mike are what make people want to come back to a store. Great customer service is one thing, but having someone who combines that level of service with so much knowledge and passion for what they do is something special. You all have an absolute GEM Bass Pro and I truly hope Mike gets the recognition he deserves. We are extremely grateful for all of his help today. Thank you, Mike!! - Brandon and Elizabeth

  ★☆☆☆☆ This was my very first visit to the Bass Pro Shops in Clarksville. The store is huge, I was having a very pleasant time, and I was already planning to come back many times. On my way out, I was having a friendly conversation with the older woman greeting customers near the checkout. She was a pleasure to talk to. I had already said more than once that I didn’t mind waiting. Then a younger employee came over, abruptly interrupted us, and directed me to another register in a blunt, commanding tone. It felt like she was shooing me out of the store. The way she spoke to me was belittling, and I did not appreciate the way she interrupted the woman I was speaking with, either. I’m 63, retired, and a veteran. I was a customer enjoying a conversation on my way out the door, with every intention of returning and spending money there. Instead, one employee turned my first visit into an experience that left me feeling unwelcome. To me, this points to a problem with big box stores: would someone who owned the business interrupt two older people having a pleasant conversation and treat a customer that way? I don’t know whether this employee is in management, but if she is, she should not be managing anyone without learning how to treat people with courtesy. Someone at the store needs to speak with her. If I could give this experience less than one star, I would. I won’t be back.
